Wedding Insurance

Alyssa, on November 7, 2019 at 9:33 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
Hey everyone!
my fiancé and I are getting married in almost a year! Our venue is considering a “destination wedding” because it’s a little over 4 hours from where we live. A few family members have mentioned purchasing wedding insurance. Our venue contract states it only covers if something were to happen to the venue site before our wedding date due to unforeseen events but nothing else if we were to change/ postpone the wedding, some one were to get sick, etc. What are your thoughts on wedding insurance? I know there’s fine print to everything. Has anyone ever ran into issues and wish they’ve gotten insurance or purchased insurance and wish they haven’t wasted money on it? Thanks for everyone’s advice in advance! ☺️

My venue required it from Wedsafe. I think it’s a good idea. I don’t mind protecting $20,000 for $250.

I'm definitely getting it! I'm hoping I never have to use it, but just in case I'd like to have it!

I don't think there is really any right or wrong answer here. If you feel like it would give you more piece of mind, then it's probably a good investment. I didn't get wedding insurance and everything was fine. But I was comfortable with that level of risk.

We purchased wedding insurance, just in case. It is pretty cheap, so we really did not see a reason not to.

Thanks everyone! I actually just saw the Gatlinburg area had snow already! Since my family is flying in next year on November 13th and I’m driving from 4 hours away; I’m definitely getting the insurance for a peace of mind!☺️

I personally would always recommend insurance, of any sort! It could cover if something happens to someone at the wedding as well. Usually they're around $120 roughly, so it seems like a small cost that's worth it.
