Wedding Insurance

Rebecca, on July 28, 2020 at 2:52 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

So I've asked a question similar to this one before but I need to touch up on it again. My venue requires wedding insurance and highly recommends Wedsure. I've seen a lot of brides here saying liability insurance is a must especially if you're serving alcohol. We are not serving alcohol but I still want to have that coverage incase something crazy happens. I don't even know how to go about what to pick. Even though there are no wedding insurance companies that cover Covid-19 related cancellations, I do want cancellation insurance because Florida weather is unpredictable. Especially during September. These questions might be ridiculous but how much should I put for "Cancellation / Postponement Coverage Limit" and Additional Expense Coverage Limit? Our wedding budget is 12,000 so should I match that or go higher? With the Liability & Cancellation plan, it came out to $318. Would I be paying too much?

You want to cover what you could potentially lose, so I would definitely insure for the full amount. But I would definitely check all things cancellations, last I looked (a few weeks ago), no one was really providing any coverage as it relates to cancellations. (Maybe I overlooked something)...

Ours is through Wedsure and they were the only ones still offering cancellation when I booked. We were October before we postponed, in the South, on the coast, so we definitely needed cancellation in case of hurricanes!

I got mine through statefarm for free because I have my renters insurance through them.
