Wedding Insurance for Hurricane Season

Kasyah, on March 22, 2020 at 11:13 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
We have had to reschedule our date of 3/30/20 due to this COVID-19 crap. It is destination and with limited options to choose from our new date is at the beginning of hurricane season. I am wanting to purchase insurance for that reason. What are some good insurance agencies for that kind of coverage? Are agencies still issuing insurance atleast for that? I am hoping so but just wanting to check to see if anyone has purchased recently for the same reason.

From what I have noticed all the insurance places I've looked at are no longer offering any cancellation insurance right now.

That's what I am seeing which honestly doesn't make sense to me because if a hurricane wipes out my venue I am screwed. It's not the same as with COVID-19. Feel like surely they'd put a clause in the insurance about covering everything but cancellation for the pandemic.

The only thing I could recommend is to see if there are any local insurance agencies that can help you with a policy covering hurricanes or actually calling and speaking to the company on the phone. It is hard to give every scenario online.

I’m in the same boat. Planning to reschedule my April wedding but want to push it out far enough so this convos stuff dies down but then that puts us squarely in hurricane season. Good to know wedding insurance companies aren’t really issuing policies right now. Hopefully they open back up for more business once these claims go through. I have insurance now for my April event but don’t think It’ll cover canceling outright for covid.
