Wedding in Puerto Rico

Sulay, on January 21, 2021 at 12:31 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 3

Hello! I am having my wedding next month (2/21/2021) in Puerto Rico and received an email from my coordinator with some restrictions and limitations that are in place. The most concerning one was a no dancing rule. Our venue is very large, outdoors, and our guest count is only 65 (the venue has a 350 max occupancy!).

I was wondering if anyone had recently gotten married there and what restrictions were in place when they did.

Thanks!

I don't know specifics of what's approved or not, but I know you have to request an event permit (dispensa) and there are a few restrictions in place. I recommend joining the facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/646717352350192/ because the members are constantly updating as the executive orders for the island have been changing. I've found that group super helpful in keeping me up to date on what weddings are looking like in PR and they're really great at answering questions too.

My wedding is in Puerto Rico in February 19 2021 and no, there is no dancing allow. In order to celebrate a wedding you have to request a permit to the government if they approve they will let you know the restrictions you have to follow if you don't follow those restrictions or if you don't have the permission letter the government and police can shut down the wedding and you will have to pay a fine and the venue will have to close until the government allow them to open again. That already happens with a wedding in Zara del caribe.
