Wedding in Michigan?

Your Ohio wedding license will only be valid in Ohio. If you'd like to get married in Michigan, you'd need to get a license in Michigan.

It looks like you’ll need to get the license in the county in which you’ll be getting married at least 3 days before the wedding and no more than 33 days out. You’ll need to go in person with the correct paperwork and forms of identification. I’d call the clerk recorder’s office in the county you are getting married in to make sure you have all the correct information.

View Quoted Comment Your pastor should be able to marry you in whatever state you choose, unless there’s a rule in Ohio that I’m not aware of. You and your FS would be the ones obtaining the license. Your officiant just signs it.

I’m getting married in Michigan, and from my understanding, either you or FS must have Michigan ID.

If neither of you are MI residents, then you need to go the the county you're getting married in, and the license will only be valid in that county.
