Wedding in December?

Tiffany, on July 1, 2019 at 9:25 AM Posted in Planning 0 11

Honestly, I haven't met/talked to a bride that is getting married in December. I live in New York, where we get pretty bad snow/weather so we're taking quite a chance on the weather, which I am slightly concerned about but it's what was decided and what I am happy with. It is early December so hopefully light snow will be all that we get. Is anyone else getting married in December/January, how are you planning for snow just in case? Does your venue have a plan for snow just incase?

I’m getting married December 13th over in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, so we can get crazy weather too! I’m honestly just hoping for the best, that’s all I can do at this point lol my ceremony and reception venue are within 20 minutes of each other and a majority of the guests are in the area, so it should be fine!!

We're getting married NYE and I just pray there isn't a lot of snow. But our venue is literally 3 minutes from the hotel so I think we'll be fine either way

I got married Christmas weekend but in Sonoma, CA so didn't need to worry about snow. I found December to be a wonderful time to get married because I got some amazing off-season discounts.

Hey fellow December bride! We're getting married December 7th in Maryland. This time of year isn't too bad, maybe some rain or sleet, but we don't normally get heavy snow until later on in January or February.

We’re getting married December 14th, 2019 in NC. We’re a little nervous also because last December we got hit with some snow. But we’re still pressing on, hopefully it won’t snow this December!!

December weddings are so magical!!! We got married in December in Colorado. Our wedding was inside an old historic observatory in the telescope room where there is no heater. No snow on our wedding but I had plans to wear Uggs under my dress instead of heals just in case so my feet would stay warm and also no slipping on ice. Wedding dress was an off the shoulder with pockets; perfect to slip in hand warmers. I had a gorgeous stole for outside pictures. And because everything was already decorated for Christmas, there were minimal wedding decorations needed for our special day.

It's not December. But I'm getting married at the end of March in Illinois. I'm trying to plan for rain, snow, an epic blizzard, flooding, negative temperatures to 80 degrees...
I made sure my transportation deposit and payment were refundable if they couldn't get to my venue due to weather.

I live in Ohio (marrying in April)! Unless for religious reasons requiring you to marry in a church, have you considered a venue that does ceremonies and receptions? That way even if it was snowing, guests would only have to drive one place!

Fellow New York bride here! My dream date had always been December 31st, but we are getting married in February. We are doing ceremony and reception in the same place, so praying for no bad weather but if so, everything will be in one place!

I’m getting married in February in Colorado, our venue has an indoor and outdoor option just in case weather is too bad for outside!
