Wedding hairstyles for thin sparse hair

Kristen, on May 14, 2017 at 12:18 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

My hair is thin and doesn't hold curls well. I want to wear it down so bad but still want volume. I LOVE the "to the side" and down styles. Not only is my hair thin but there's also not a lot of it. Thinking about adding extensions in as well. Do you think clip in will be fine?? The pic is from our engagement photos and I basically just straightened it.

I definitely think clip in extensions would work wonders! I bought mine from Luxy Hair. You can even email photos to them and they can help you with what color and length to get.

I don't really have any ideas, I just came in here to look and saw a fellow Bills fan!

    Go Bills!

Do you have a stylist you see frequently? Can they give you any advice?

You still have a few months. Is there something you can try with a stylist to see what might work? Maybe get with you wedding hair person early to try different things.

I have thin hair (I call it baby hair) and I'm doing an updo so I'm not much help with extensions but I have heard that they are awesome. They can be pricey and make sure you do some research on them to make sure you get ones that can have heat applied. If you do get some that aren't the right color you can have them colored to match your hair. Also, a good hair stylist will know what's best for your hair and the style you want so I would talk to you're hair stylist and see some suggestions from the one that will be doing your hair.

Clip in should be fine! Your stylist will be able to help you better decide & find the right color to best match your hair as well as the correct length & cutting them to blend with your natural hair

I have super thin hair, too. I used clip in extensions and they looked great. Here are two photos of my wedding hair with the extensions in (half up half down) and two of my normal hair. There's a huge difference.

The clip-ins stayed put all day, were comfortable, and were quick and easy for my stylist to put in. I got mine from Cashmere only because they had the most grams of hair per set and I wanted a lot of hair for that thick/full look but they are pricey. They're real hair, and I got the 16" set because I didn't want too much length. There are a lot of options out there for clip-in extensions.

One last thing, my hair won't hold a curl for longer than 10 minutes either UNLESS I use hot rollers. Talk to your stylist about using hot rollers instead of a curling iron on your hair, mine had some and was able to use them on me. They held a curl for a lot longer than they would have if she had used a curling iron.

I don't know what it's like to have thin hair, but I do think you'll be able to do clip ins that day. Make sure your hair person is good with using them so it looks great. But I say why not try, especially to get the look you want for your special day.
