Wedding gown appointment

The number one thing I can't recommend enough is a strapless bra. It'll work for any dress you try on. If you've thought about what kind of shoes you'd like to wear, I'd take a similar pair, something with a heel about the same size so you can get an idea of how each dress will look with shoes like that.

I wore nude high waist spanx and nip covers! So many dresses are backless/cutout/deep cut that wearing a bra just made no sense to me!

At my first few boutique appointments I wore a nude adhesive bra and nude panties. I started to realize the bra was pointless though as most wedding dresses nowadays have sewn in cups or padding, so at the rest of my appointments I just removed my bra when trying on. It was actually also getting in the way most of the time, or would peek out of some dresses, so I highly recommend leaving it off when you try on and figure out the bra/no bra situation *after* you find your dream dress.

Definitely seamless underwear and any basic shape wear you might have that can smooth yourself out! If you have a basic idea of how high your shoes will be, bring that too just in case. I was also given the advice to have your makeup done too so you can envision yourself with the dress and your face done up. However, I also know that can be problematic with getting makeup on the dresses as you try them on. That's totally up to you! Perhaps try the makeup look when you go in for your first fitting? I'll tell you what I wore when finding my dress. I wore a strapless bra, a girdle and a pair of shoes about the height I thought I wanted to wear the day of the wedding. You don't need the exact garments you'll wear the day you get married.
