Wedding gifts

My fiance and I were just talking about this recently! We're deciding between exchanging gifts the night before our wedding, or on the wedding day right before our first look. I think we're leaning towards right before the first look, though that decision might change.

I had my BFF present him with his gift an hour before the ceremony. I asked him not to buy me anything because he is always gifting me. But it was important to bless him with his favorite watch that morning.

We are going to exchange gifts the night before. It’s something less we’ll have to take from the venue after the reception. It also gives us that moment together.

One of his brothers is going to drive their mom over in the morning so he ll be the gift deliverer on both ends. What are you planning on gifting?

We bought ours gifts together in advance, so no surprises. But, we left handwritten notes for each other for the wedding day which may be more of a common tradition. As we got ready in 2 different areas and did not do a first look, I left mine in our home where he was getting ready. He gave his note to our planner who delivered it to me at the Church. I put it in the top of my dress before I walked down the aisle. The notes were more important to me, thought the diamonds were worn!

I’d say it’s definitely up to you and what type of gift it is. I wanted to surprise my husband with a luggage and packing set for the honeymoon, so I gave it to him before our wedding day. He was surprised alright, and said he didn’t know giving each other wedding gifts was a thing! 😂🫢
I hinted that it would be lovely to have a professional photographer in Italy take some photos of us as keepsakes. Sure enough he found one on AirBnb for a good deal. While we were at the airport waiting on our flight, he said “Oh I should probably tell you now, but your wedding gift is a session with a photographer in Rome tomorrow morning at 7 AM” 🤣🤣🤣

During our rehearsal dinner we had given all of the people there gifts and that's when we just decided to give gifts to each other too

We'll probably exchange gifts the night before. Like Imani mentioned, it's one less thing to do, make time for, and/ or forget about. I think we're going to exchange notes before the ceremony since we're not doing a first look or personalized vows. That way, we'll both be in the church so it'll be an easy exchange, we can have our coordinator, photographer, or really anyone do the exchange, and it'll all be on film.

We exchanged gifts the night of the wedding. I did however have a surprise for my husband which I gave to him right before we did our first touch.
