Wedding Flowers/colors for Feb wedding

Jackie, on July 2, 2020 at 4:05 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 4

I want to incorporate red roses and sunflowers for a February 2021 wedding. However, I feel the sunflowers won't fit the theme. Since we will be having a February wedding, I think our wedding colors will be more pinks and dark reds. But I'm not sure how to incorporate sunflowers with that mix. Help?

I like the idea of incorporating red roses, sunflowers and maybe baby's breath in the bouquet. My original wedding colors were ginger/orange, burgundy, marigold and cream. But since we are planning on a February wedding, I'm stuck on dusty/soft hue of pink, burgundy and I want another one that compliments these colors. I feel marigold won't be able to do that and I'm not sure if I can incorporate sunflowers if I decide to go with this color scheme.

Before being too set on this combination, I would check with a florist to make sure you can get sunflowers in February. They aren't in season then, and while that may not mean you can't get them, it might mean they will be really expensive.

I agree! I would talk to your florist because flowers that aren't in season can be extremely difficult to get which makes them very expensive and it might not be worth the cost to get sunflowers.
