Wedding Flowers on a Budget

Katelyn, on December 10, 2019 at 9:28 PM Posted in Style and Décor 1 20

My fiance and I are getting married, and I am having trouble finding wedding flowers that are not very expensive. I am not wanting to hire a florist because we are trying to save as much money as possible. My mom is very crafty so she is in charge of the flowers and decorations but she does not know where to find artificial flowers. We do not want real flowers because we want to be able to prepare them beforehand. We are wanting a lot of flowers and greenery so if you know of any places that have them and where we can buy them in bulk please let me know! Thank you!

We have purchased some wonderful silk's at Hobby Lobby to fill some of the floral needed at our wedding. We do have a florist however, she is willing to work with and help fill in our silk arrangements. We are using a lot of silk and dried floral's to save on some of the floral cost's but also because I want Magnolia's and they do not do well once cut. Hobby Lobby also run's sales on their item's frequently so you can get a good deal!

I found Afloral online and I am really impressed with their quality! Shipping isn't the cheapest, but they are flowers so they have to deliver them in a pretty large box. They are always sending me promo codes in my email though so that helps! I decided to order the flowers I knew I couldn't get/I didn't like at Hobby Lobby, Michael's, etc. so I didn't get a very big order. Good luck!!

Amazon.com, you can find the types of flowers you're looking for and you can buy in bulk for pretty cheap prices too.

Did my own centerpieces using only flowers from Dollar Tree! Maybe not the most extravagant of flower arrangements but with them being my first try at centerpieces, I was extremely pleased with them as were the guests. I only came home with 2 out of the 10 I made because people took them home lol.

They have vases too so even just a small vase and a bundle of flowers or 2 would work for a simple setup. It would only cost $2-3 per centerpiece.

You can rent from Something Borrowed Blooms https://somethingborrowedblooms.com/en/

If you DO decided to go with fresh flowers for the ceremony, check grocery stores! Kroger, Costco... They have flower collections you can order. https://www.costco.com/soft-grace-wedding-package.product.100494102.html

I went to hobby lobby a lot!! We hot most of our flowers from there and they always have sales. Depending on the flowers you want to use I searched artificial (the flower) and found some great sites... only sad part is I cant remember the sites I used. So if you are looking for stores hobby lobby and Michael's.

I purchased mine from Hobby Lobby. Last week they had a 50% off sale on flowers. They might have one next week, fingers crossed! They often have the sale on floral so I would keep an eye out for that. They also have a 40% off coupon for 1 regular price item on their website you can use every time you shop there.

Esty will probably have a lot of options. You could also look into renting flowers. Good luck!

Depending on how many and what kind you want, getting a large quantity from a local shop and then transporting them yourself in pails of water could be the way to go.

You might be able to order flowers in bulk at the local grocery store or greenhouse depending what flowers are in season where you will be married. I'll be getting boutonnieres/corsages and 4 bouquets from a small local shop for about half the cost of the recommended wedding florist and then will grab a bunch of baby's breath from HEB (grocery store) to finish out some of the decorating. They have the option for bigger orders there but I didnt know this until I had already paid the deposit for the other florist.

When I was a bridesmaid, we helped make our own rings with flowers and i helped the bride pick her bouquet out of the buckets of flowers she got from a local grocery store but I'm not entirely sure where she sourced them from (that was Michigan; i'm currently in Texas). My mom had also given her some from the yard to decorate for the rehearsal.

Sorry, re learning to read: for fake flowers, i have faux pearl silk flowers that are georgous found online. I just did a search for bulk flowers and they were one of the first ones there.

Yes! I totally recommend using Something Borrowed Blooms! I'm planning on using them for my wedding because flowers are sooo expensive! You just rent the ones you need and get them a few days before your wedding and can put them all together. They have an Instagram and show you how to do things like make flowers for an arch.

I just got a sample bouquet last night and it's gorgeous and it evens smells great!
