Wedding Flow without Ceremony

My now husband and I went ahead with a ceremony due to having to postpone our wedding twice. We have a new reception date picked out, to celebrate with family and friends. However marriage isn't a common theme in either of our families, and we still want to do a traditional walk down the aisle with parents giving us away, etc etc.



Any ideas on how this could flow at the reception? We won't have an officiant, but thought maybe we could say personal vows to each other, for everyone to witness. That way everyone still feels apart of our moment.
Thoughts?

    Have a friend or relative “officiate” a ceremony but make it past tense. Ex: Did you take each other to have and to hold....... “I did”!

    It wouldn’t be an actual ceremony but would allow you to have your walk down the aisle and have some fun with the situation. Then proceed with your reception as usual.

    Yes sounds good just look at it has a vow renewal. I agree with PP ask a friend or family friend to host it and for you guys to say your vows...

    We went ahead with our first date as well. Our family and friends celebration has been moved to a new date next May after scheduling 3 dates. But we are planning on doing a 1yr renewal of some kind. Doing the full sha bang all over. I have to or will lose &4k from my venue.

    Oh course you can have your parents walk down the aisle and give you away and have you DJ announce that you want everyone to hear the vows you made to one another.
