Wedding Favors

Soooo I wanted to give out flower seeds and “let love grow” as wedding favors since the big day is May 2. FH is like who is actually going to use those... let’s get shot glasses.

Is this tacky?
If not, any suggestions on where to get custom ones?

I don't think that's tacky at all to do either one of those. Your idea is cute.

I personally love this idea! It may not be for everyone, but I would rather have flower seeds than another shot glass favour as I either don't take those or they collect dust for a while then get thrown away (at least in our house). I guess it's probably a know your crowd thing, as some people would be more inclined than others to actually plant the seeds.

Give the seeds of love to the ladies and the shot glasses to the guys (one at each place setting). this may cost a bit more, but at least you will both get what you want and I know your ladies will love the seeds or pass them on to their Moms for the backyard. Both favors are great and useful, but not everyone plants and not everyone drinks.

Seeds of love (my sister got these and the price is right and lovely!)

I have never used a shot glass or anything engraved as a favor from a wedding. It usually sits in a cabinet until I wind up throwing it way. I would do the seeds of love it is a very cute idea!

If you're doing wedding favors, please don't distribute by gender. There's some pretty heavy stereotypes going on here. I'd be more inclined to use the shot glass.

OP: Personally, I'm really only a fan of edible wedding favors. They're really not necessary otherwise. I have a good amount of shot glasses from past weddings and, though I wish I had a garden, I don't (and I know many people don't have the capability to grow plants either). If you really want to do favors, I think the best way to go about things would be to do something edible (this can always go with your wedding aesthetic) and it could leave your guests with "something sweet to remember the day by."

I think both are great! It depends on your crowd. Both would work for us as guests, we collect shot glasses for our bar & we have a garden. We had a lot of single men and a lot of people that live in the city or traveled in, so I'm assuming shot glasses would have worked better for them.

You know your guests best. Do what you think is right. As for me, I'd address both genders.

Truthfully (every person is different) I am not one for symbolic gifts. I would toss the flower seeds as I do not garden. How many of your guests will plant them? I would rather a shot glass for something edible. Maybe some personalized labels for candy like hershey kisses or something. I think your idea has a cute, symbolic meaning but for me as guest to various weddings I have never liked anything symbolic and threw it away or left it. You know your crowd best so if they would appreciate it then go for it.
