Wedding Favors

Kalie, on December 6, 2019 at 11:19 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 20

Quick Question,

What do you guys think are the most wanted wedding favors? Ive plenty ideas of custom cups, water bottles to anything like candy and donuts but does anyone that has already had their wedding know what guests actually LIKE to take home?

I haven't had my wedding but I think you can get better feedback from what people have received as guests (rather than what people think as hosts). No ones going to tell the bride/groom their favors sucked.

As a guest: the only favors I've enjoyed are edible ones: homemade jams, dips, spreads, wine, etc. Oh, I received a matchbox one time- that was good too.

Things I didn't like (and honestly threw out): bottle openers, keys (?), keychains, trinket type items.
I would avoid custom cups and water bottles.

I agree with PP, edible favors are your best option. Smores, cookies, candies, popcorn, caramel apples...

I was actually thinking of doing cups but thats only because we are serving cold beer and i think cans or "solo cups" are really tacky. so ill think of some edible ideas for favors thank you

The only ones i've ever liked and taken as a guest were: matchbooks, anything edible (I've seen cookies, truffles, candy bags, homemade apple pie shots in jars), or koozies. Everything else was left at the table.

Just rent glassware for your bar service (because I agree with you; it's nicer to drink out of glass than plastic).

The reason why people are saying personalized cups aren't good favors is because very few people actually want to have a single glass with someone's name/wedding date on it in their cupboard. Just go to any thrift shop; there are hundreds of these glasses there.

There's no single favor that everyone will like but at least edible ones can be enjoyed quickly and don't collect dust or take up cupboard space.

Yes you do have a point, i am just trying to avoid high rental costs for things like that, i already have to rent nice chairs and that alone is going to be like 600 dollars, but thank you for the advice, it makes sense for sure

I agree with others that edible items are the only thing that I would actually take home. Koozies are also good because you can’t have enough of those at hime.

I’ve only ever taken edible favors. I leave behind koozies, cups, bottle openers etc. I went to a wedding earlier this year where every single person left behind the glass favor. So the bride and groom had over 100 wine glasses with their names and wedding date on it at the end of the night.

As a guest I've only ever had edible favors. But I've seen some friends get really cool ones. One friend of mine got a salt and pepper shaker that she still uses. That's so practical.

Food and candy ^_^. I'm doing a gourmet popcorn bar as favor.

Oh for non-food favors, my sister had parasols and pretty fans as favors (it was hot that day), I've had decorative chopsticks from my cousin's (we're Asian so it works? lol), and my FSIL gave away some hershey kisses with heart bottle openers! Everyone used these till this day!

I guess I'm the odd one out because I take and use almost every wedding favor. The only one I haven't used is a wine bottle stopper but that's just because we don't drink wine.

Overall it does seem like edible favors get taken more though. We had homemade jam as our favor and they all went - we didn't even get any for ourselves.

We did custom koozies. which i've seen lots of our guests using (via snap chat or facebook) so thats an option.

edible favors or candies are always fun! amazon sells personalized mints and kisses. OR an alternative is giving a donation to a charity instead of buying favors. then you don't have to worry if your guests like them or not lol

I think it’s kind of the risk you take with favors. I know for me and most of my friends we have wine glasses in a set and wouldn’t use one that’s different that had someone’s name on it. But it might be a know your crowd thing.

Edible favors are the way to go! Cookies are a good option, plus I've seen a bride here planning to do a trail-mix bar

I think anything edible, for sure. I always take favors, but at the last wedding we went to they had edible favors (boxes of Hershey’s kisses) and over half were left over. We’ve decided to donate that money to an animal shelter instead in honor of our guests. That way nothing gets wasted and it goes to animals in need!
