Wedding Favors!

Edith, on June 23, 2020 at 1:06 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

Hello Brides,

I am planning on having shot glasses as favors in a sheer pouch bag, is giving out one per couple or family tacky? Also, where and how do you display them at the reception or should they be handed out towards the end of the reception? I am getting married in October and have a small guest list due to everything that is going on.

Usually people have a table for the favors.

i don't think it's tacky to do one per family, i mean what would children do with them right ? aha

I am going to place favors at each dinner setting at the reception. It's easier than making another table or having someone hand them out at the end

I don't think that tacky at all! I think it'll work! Like PP said on a table would be a good idea maybe in a tin tub thing? I am not sure your theme so it could coincide with that?

What I've heard is that edibles are one per person while non edibles are one per family.

As someone who gave favors at the end. I would like to encourage you to put it at each place setting. Luckily our favors were edible and we were able to eat them over a couple of days. It's usually cheaper to buy in bulk, so try to give each person one. Also, just know your crowd and what they would like.. my brother gave out shot glasses (at a dry wedding at that lol) and I forgot I got one lol. He got married in 2015 and I just found it in a box when I was moving 3 months ago.

I would recommend doing one favor per person, not per couple or per family.

I don't think it's tacky at all! We're doing one per person, but only because our idea works better that way. For one/family, you can either do a table that they grab from on their way out, or you can incorporate the favors into the place cards. For example, tie a place card that says "Smith Family, Table 8" to one of the favors. Then it's also clear it's one/family without making a sign that says "please only take one."
