Wedding Favors

Jordan, on December 2, 2019 at 10:43 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 14

I am a little stuck on what to get our guests for wedding favors. Our wedding is modern/ rustic if that makes sense. Smiley smile We have about 200 people attending the wedding so nothing too exspensive because of the quantitiy. Open to suggestions? Thanks!!!

I personally would like to get candy/sweets as favors. There are companies that can personalize candy bars- write your names and wedding date on the candy bar.
There are cut ideas that are not food related but it may get tossed so that will just be a waste of money.

We are doing a trail mix bar. Going to get boxes for people to make their own and take it with them. We want to get the M&Ms in our wedding colors so it matches. We think it's a neat idea.

You can totally skip the favors. You don’t need them and will cost a lot for 200 guests. Yikes.

I second the candy! But my fiancé and I are also still planning ours out and are going with candles, as we have a scent that goes back to before we met. So we’re creating a votive with a backstory tied around it. We might also double their table number/name as a favor and put candies in a small picnic basket.

We are doing a cookie table. Look it up! It comes from the Pittsburgh area (actually Italian origins) but is cheap and fun.

We did homemade jam for ours with a few different flavors. It was a huge hit and such a cost effective and fun thing to do together!

This is so unique and looks sooo good! I'm team no favors just for the sake of our budget, but we definitely would've done edible favors if we had the funds. I would've loved this as a wedding guest!

I agree with Pirates & 60s bride that you can absolutely skip favors, no one will be offended if you do. It's also a good way to stay within your budget, I'd imagine even the cheapest favors for 200 people would be pricey! That being said, if you are set on having favors for your guests, definitely go the edible route. Personalized koozies/magnets/bottle openers and stuff like that often just get left behind by guests and then it's money wasted Smiley sad Everyone loves food, so you can't go wrong there! Before we decided not to have favors (budget reasons), we planned on doing a candy bar with little bags/boxes with tags that said "A sweet ending to our new beginning" Smiley smile

Our wedding favors are pretty inexpensive. I'm not completely sure of the total because my MIL is paying for them. We got butterfly confetti that the guests can plant and flowers will grow. We got the butterflies in our wedding colors and they will be going in organza bags. My BIL will be making the label for them because he is in graphic designs. I think the confetti and bags came from Etsy or Michaels.

We're doing a hot chocolate bar & dessert bar (on our own and not through our caterer) during the reception to act as their favors and we are toying with the idea of having a food truck available for guests in the parking lot of our venue as guests leave as another part of their favors as well. We wanted to do something our guests would enjoy and not give them something that they may throw away when they get home.

We have a dessert table (tons of cookies, bars, and brownies in addition to cupcakes). We are keeping little bags out there and a sign that says "Love is sweet take a treat". We have small 4x4 photos on the tables as well on candlestick holders. If someone would like a photo (most likely family), then they can take them. I've never been to a wedding where I remembered the favor because it was either edible or trashed.
