They are completely optional. Don't feel obligated to do so

From what I’ve read, most favors go untouched such as little trinkets or keepsakes. You could double your name cards as magnets so they’re personalized and easy to take home. But from what I’ve seen, edible favors are the most grabbed. A little candy bar to close the night out, pretzels or cookies to take home, etc.
    hope this helps!

Would a little bottle of booze be too much or no?

If you chose to do favours, I would advise on something edible (i.e. personalised cookies which can double up as place cards). I’ve seen one too many wedding favours of little use that are generally thrown out afterward so if you want to spend money on them, edibles are a safe way to go.

Hello! For favors go with something edible (candies, cookies, sweet treats) or something more home useful (like a candle)? My advice would to not be your names or date in big lettering (if at all!) on your favors. I know it’s your special day, but for everyone else it’s just another nice day. Most people don’t want to keep around a wedding favor (especially with names and dates) cause they don’t want stuff piling around.

I don’t think so! Little nips or mini champagne bottles would be cute! You could even print out your own customized labels to stick on them with your names and wedding date

Personally I wouldn’t do alcohol because it’s a bit too tricky (i.e. does everyone drink, what type of alcohol etc) but that’s my opinion. It certainly wouldn’t go to waste though!

Skip the alcohol favors. Save your money and put it toward food/drink/entertainment at the reception

Personally I wouldn't mind little bottles of booze, if I like it I'd take it. If I don't like the kind offered I'd leave it. You know your crowd best is a majority drink then go for it. Just get types you guys will enjoy in case you have leftovers.

I'm doing personalized hand sanitizers for favors. They are cute yet functional, if you choose not to go the edible route. And not too expensive. I spent $25 on about 60 labels off of etsy and they fit perfectly on bath and body works sanitizers which I plan on waiting until they have a sale or I get the 20% coupon in the mail.

I'm thinking of doing little jars of honey or jam - or skipping them all together.

Our first date was at a coffee shop so we’re doing personalized mugs with chocolate covered espresso beans stropewaffles and Coco twirls inside them.

I would skip favors. Many guests don’t even take them home. They are a waste of money.

Like other posters have said, the alcohol could be nice but it does depend on your crowd, you'll likely still end up with several left behind. Also if there are underaged guests at the party its a worry that some may end up taking them when they shouldn't.

I always recommend skipping favors, sure, there are a few people that love and cherish them, but most people don't take the favor and it ends up being wasted money.

I recommend putting the money you would spend in favors (which, little bottles of booze could add up quick) and put it back to the guest experience. Upgrade your dj or dessert, add a photobooth on, or include a cool appetizer before dinner.

If it's really important to you, do something simple that you could make use out of in your home if you end up with 20+ favors left over.

My sister did sunflower seeds at her wedding (100 packs, probably 50 were left) and she and my mom planted a ton of sunflowers that year.

My mom and I are going to learn how to make limoncello this summer so we can make it for the wedding as our favors, little individual bottles of limoncello (lemonade for our 3 guests that will be under 21) with personalized tags on them.

My FH and I both come from fairly large Italian families so Limoncello is pretty safe for our crowd, I think alcohol as a favor is a 'know your crowd' situation!
