Wedding favors? Yes? No?

Oct62018bride, on August 5, 2017 at 6:21 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 43

Who's doing wedding favors? If so, what are they?

I'm not sure if I'll do them or not. I hear both sides. Some say "no" because it's a waste of money and you're already giving them a night out lol and others say, absolutely you need them.

If I do them, I'd want them to be somewhat practical and budget friendly. I can't fathom the thought of spending even $100 on something people are going to throw away.

Also, if I were to do them, I was thinking it could be a part of their place setting when they find their table.

Thoughts?

I'm not doing traditional wedding favors but I am ordering reusable plastic cups with mine and my future husbands names and wedding date on them. It's commemorative and if the guests don't want them then there is more for me Smiley smile

We're doing favors. Waffled on it a bit but decided to do candies. I don't have a picture but they look something like what's attached. They come in little glass jars that were too cute to pass up. And we got cute little tags with just our initials and a thank you.

We're doing a photo booth, candy bar, flip flops for the ladies (aka dancing shoes, lol), small votive candles with the guest name, table number & our names/wedding date below that, so it's doing double duty as an escort "card" & a personalized gift. Geesh I think that's it :-) all under $1 each!!!

A fun reception with great food and an open bar and good music is all the favor you need.

When I was deciding, some people told me no but I thought it was still a common thing. Its not. We are doing a popcorn bar with take home baggies.

I really like getting koozies, but I feel like its been over done.

I got a deck of cards once and I thought that was cute.

I've written this dozens of times, but I'd rather have more cocktail hour food, than a favor I will never use and might not even take.

I'm not doing favors but I am planning on doing welcome bags. We are having an intimate wedding (25-30 people) out of town. Also possibly some blankets if it gets cold or some cheap dancing flip flops. If I were having a large wedding I wouldn't do favors.
