Wedding favors.. to have or not to have?

Sarafina, on June 21, 2020 at 5:57 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 12
So my FH and I are trying to figure out if wedding favors are something we must have or not. I will either be making them or buying, but we cant seem to figure out what make a great favor. Any ideas?

I recommend favors that are edible! We're doing chocolate covered cherries in mini jars. Maybe find something that is unique to where you're getting married at or something that the area is known for?

Completely agree that edible is the way to go! Non-edible favors generally get tossed or thrown out, but edible favors are ALWAYS appreciated!

They're not required but if you want them, edibles are the way to go.

We are doing a little box of customized m&ms with a guitar pick printed with our wedding info for our favor. Edibles, like PPs have said, seem to always be a hit. We added the guitar picks for a more personal touch, and more than half our guest list are musicians. Our daughter told us she will be using hers as a book marker lol

It can't be said enough that edible favors are the way to go!

My grandma makes these cream cheese mints for every gathering. She really wants to make a ton for our wedding so we're going to be helping her make them a few days before and use them as favors! Easy to do them in many different shapes. You can also use candy molds to make cool chocolates and chocolate suckers!

Not necessary if you want to save money! But If you want to do something edible: cookie, cake pop, chocolate truffle, brownie, or something fun and themed (something from your state or a dessert from your heritage).

Favors are becoming less and less common. Your guests won’t care if you don’t have them and a lot get left behind, especially if they aren’t edible. If they’re not in your budget, don’t stress it! If they’re important to you, go with something edible.
You can do seasonal items, things unique to your area, or even a candy buffet where guests can take a little bag of candy home. There are a lot of options!
Be sure to check with your venue about food because some don’t allow outside items to be brought in unless they meet certain criteria.

I don't think they're required but it is a nice touch to thank them for coming. We bought some jars and will fill with personalized m&ms. As others said it's better to go with something edible such as candy or a cookie to go with your theme.

Well oh course favors are not a must!!

if you are going to splurge I suggest they be edible. This way you have a better chance of guest actually taking them.
