Wedding Favors: mints

TealWedding, on November 7, 2016 at 9:03 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

Hello! So we nixed the CD favor idea. We know favors aren't necessary but we just thought of those wedding mints that were really popular in the 90's and 2000's. We know edible favors are really the only way to go, so now we are seriously considering these! Here's my question: usually people put the mints in these little drawstring white bags. Does anyone have any ideas on how to kind of modernize the wedding mint thing? It will all come down to presentation. Ideas?

Pretty sure I am the only person on earth that likes those. Wildly reviled. But maybe there are hordes of closet mint-iacs out there.

Oh man we love them but yeah I guess most people would think they're weird. How about his & hers candy? In cute paper cones? Would you take those at a wedding?

My cousin had little tins of mints from Oriental Trading Post and they were awful. I would go the candy route rather than mints. But I also would want a way to take the candy home.

I think some people might. I'm vegan so the whole edible favor things rarely works for me. Including those mints, curse it. A lot of it is visibility, so putting them at the place setting helps, putting a tag on that says they are for the guest, etc. If they are off in a special place no one will remember to get them or make the effort. People seem to go crazy for those honey sticks, but I have no idea how much they are.

Yes buttermints!! It's gross that they're called buttermints. Ugh so good. My parents are caterers and we always had a hard time not eating them before they got to the reception.

I love love those buttermints! You could get some boxes or tins, or honestly, just use the bags! A little piece of nostalgia never hurt

We are thinking these, in our wedding colors and with a "his" and "hers" basket. Mine with regular M&M's and his with swedish fish. Put them near the exit in a very clear spot. What does everyone think?

I'm doing those butter mints in the sheer bags. I got the bags free so that's my reason for not being more creative. I bought the minute bulk from Amazon.

I love those mints and would absolutely make sure I took them. Also, they're the perfect size to put in your purse on the way out.
