Wedding favors - having candy buffet or pre-packaged candy?

Wedding favors - having candy buffet or pre-packaged candy? 1

I was wondering what your guys' thoughts are on using a candy buffet for wedding favors? Like having a table set up of different jars of candy and giving guests little bags where they can take the candy home? Versus, having candy that's already pre-packaged with a personalized message on it? I saw one cute idea where they are given 'her favorite' and 'his favorite' in little bags. Just wondering if you guys have any thoughts or personal experiences of either? I was a little stuck between both. The candy buffet idea seemed fun and interactive, but seems like it requires a little more planning and more money? The his/hers pre-packaged candy we probably wouldn't have to worry so much about candy running out like the buffet...

We attended a wedding and an anniversary party that both did a buffet of wrapped candy. These were name brand candies that were order in bulk at CandyWarehouse or Target. Kisses, Reese’s mini cups, Rolos, etc and the parents of the couple at the wedding and the children of the couple at the anniversary party could not give them away at the end of the parties for anything. That cemented for us to skip the favors, including edibles.

I don’t think favors are at all necessary, but I think the pre- bagged candy is the more practical way to go.

I like the buffet idea as long as you provide serving utensils. The pre packaged candy will either be very expensive or very time and labor consuming.

I love both ideas! The his and hers candy is very cute and would be much easier and more affordable. And the candy buffet is super fun and interactive. So I guess ultimately it depends which option works better for your situation (for example if budget is a primary concern, I'd opt for the his and hers).

I think the his and hers candy is super cute, more personal, and better reflects the event (the joining of the 2 of you). I think it would also be more practical (more affordable, more sanitary, less work, and less potential for leftovers).
