Wedding favor ideas

Kaitlyn, on February 28, 2020 at 5:41 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 25

Hey guys!!!

My wedding is in November but I'm having a hard time figuring out what to do for wedding favors. I'm looking for cute and fun but also on the cheaper side. I'm open to DIY's too!

Does anyone have any ideas?

I don’t know how cheap this would be, but our wedding coordinator suggested we get throws for our guests because our wedding is also in November and we will have an outdoor ceremony. Some other little ideas we came up with were things like a s’more making kit, hot cocoa with marshmallows, etc.

Fall-themed items are super cute! I’ve seen s’mores kits, candy apples, mulled cider mix, mini pumpkin pies

When it comes to wedding favors, I'm of the (popular) opinion that you should do something edible or not at all. Favors are for sure *not* a necessity!

I think favors are totally skippable. I can only remember 1 favor I kept — a wine opener. And that’s because there was a bottle of wine in the welcome bag.

For cheapish one, succulents or a baby plants? Edibles like candy or desserts? The s’more kit PP suggested sounds great! Our venue actually provides these so we won’t be doing it. Shot glasses? Decorate your own photo frames and little Polaroid cameras nearby for people to take photos to insert?

    Yes to all of this!

Perhaps a pumpkin cake pop, or fall macaroons?

Our wedding is also in November. I was wanting to do cheap throw blankets as well but my mom thought it was tacky 🙄 I have also thought of maybe a cute little ornament. Our theme is like a winter starry night. But I may just end up skipping favors all together.Wedding favor ideas 1

So for me I decided to do a maple syrup up with a cute saying on the tag. For me it worked because it’s a fall themed wedding and maple syrup is a staple in New England and a lot of my family isn’t from New England so it’s a fun gift. So I think trying to stay within your theme would be the best way to go. November is fall so you could not go wrong with anything fall related. But it’s also close to Christmas so doing an ornament would be a good idea as well. It kind of just goes with what you think is best. I know that doesn’t really help sorry.

Our wedding is in June and we're doing Hershey kisses with little stickers on the bottom that say - "hugs & kisses from the Mr. & Mrs."

I’m kinda in the same boat. Because we’re doing a destination wedding, I thought about doing custom totes with a little care kit inside (i.e hangover kit - includes Tylenol, sunscreen, etc.)

I’ve also started looking at insulated champagne tumblers engraved.

I’m going back and forth about favors too!! Leaning more towards an edible one, though. I make homemade candy items (petit fours, truffles, caramel pretzel rods, chocolate covered whatever, etc.) for various work, family and church events so could do that in my wedding colors with a thank you tag. And will only cost me about $60 for almost 100 people.

Well I guess my first question would be what are your colors/theme? Because for me my wedding is fantasy themed so my fiancé and I chose Faerie Dust as our wedding favor. However, here are some ideas!Wedding favor ideas 3

We’re doing coffee mugs with a stoopwaffle, espresso chocolate covered beans, via coffee packet, and a rock candy stir inside. Our first date was over coffee so it’s sentimental for us. It will cost about $8 per guest

I didn’t do favors but did give everyone welcome gift bags, since it was a destination wedding. I made my own tote bags for that, which was not too difficult. Though I would not recommend it if you have a lot to make unless you start now! I got them online for about $1 each and then used images from online to make iron on transfers. With that, I added some of the typical welcome bag stuff, but I also bought custom leather luggage tags—I just put an image and quote I liked. Not our names. I did put the date really small on it in a subtle place. I think they came to about $4 each and people loved them. I don’t have a picture handy unfortunately. I also added a small candle in a jar I got at the dollar store and put a sticker on the lid and put it inside a little bag with filler (I used clearance Easter basket grass which was cheaper than other filler!)

All that being said, I think you can’t go wrong with edibles and candy or a cookie in a bag is pretty reasonable. You can make or order stickers or tags. Wedding favor ideas 7
