Wedding favor ideas

Jessica, on April 25, 2021 at 2:13 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 17
I need help with wedding favor suggestions. We're getting married in November. Right now my ideas are a mini succulent with a little card attached saying "let love grow" or make a candle in a small mason jar since it's a rustic themed wedding.

I want our favors to be something cute, practical and somehow represent us.

Most people do not take favors, even when they are edible. Save your money and put it toward things your guests will notice: good food, beverages they don’t pay for, good dj. Or put it towards a better photographer.

We had a friend do succulents and there were so many left behind... I remember taking two while someone kept insisting I take another.

Do edible favors or none at all. Many are left behind or throw away

If I were a guest at a wedding, I would absolutely LOVE to take home a succulent 😄 There’s no way I’d leave that behind! If you have that concern though, you could do edible favors as the previous posters suggested. I’ve heard some ppl do candy bars or other late night snack options as favors. Or hire a caricature artist or photo booth. Guests would be more inclined not to leave those things behind.

How about mini pies? Like apple and pumpkin in time for Thanksgiving. I agree that unless edible, people usually do not take the favors home with them.

Zazzle and other online companies make really cute personalized stickers, favor bags, etc. to decorate your favors. I have used Zazzle and Oriental Trading and both worked out great!
We burn candles a lot, especially in the autumn and winter months, so I personally like the candle idea! 🍂 🍁🧣

We’re doing succulents with a tag that says Let Love Grow. With the date. Of course the date is last year’s, COVID bride but wasn’t paying to have new ones printed 😂

I would love either of these favors! Although I may
be biased because I have tons of candles and succulents 😆 That being said, I do see tons of favors being left behind at receptions. I’ve noticed people are more apt to take their favors if they are packaged (pretty gift bag, box, etc.) with their names on them. I don’t know if it’s because I think feels more like a gift that way, it’s just easier to remember and carry, or if it’s a matter of accountability because they know that you’ll know they left it behind because their name is on it 😆 I’ve also noticed edible favors fare better. Likely because people get hungry after drinking and dancing for hours.

I would avoid a plant because it's not for everyone...needs to be watered/cared for, also wouldn't want to carry in my purse afraid of dirt getting everywhere.

I love candles so I would do that! Especially if it has a nice, subtle scent.

If I had to choose between these two, then I'd prefer the candle, but the best option would really be an edible favor. The one time I attended a wedding with succulents as the favor, most of the out of town guests only took them because we didn't want to appear rude, and then we all tossed them in the garbage before driving home or heading to the airport to catch our flights home. I would definitely avoid succulents or any type of plant as the favor because they're not easy to transport and they're very hit or miss. Candles are much better because they won't go bad and you can use them all later if you have extras. But the best option would be an edible treat!

We are going to do little mini bottles of alcohol with a little tag on it that says cheers to the mr and Mrs. I also liked the idea of scratch off tickets

We decided instead of doing favors we’re having a photobooth, this way it’s something fun and interactive and they get to keep there pictures as a favor!

Dirt is definitely something to consider! I actually dropped one of the succulents I got as a favor and it was a mess (the entire party bus seat was covered in a fine dust because they hadn’t been watered for a few days).

The candles would be perfect! Also, if some were left over it is not like they will go bad or be a nuisance until you have time to deal with them. Food spoils, plants wilt, but candles are easy to transport and last a long time.

(I might actually steal this idea for my own wedding favors, I like it so much...)

We’re doing cookies. Heart shaped with bride dress and groom tux. I ordered some stickers saying “A sweet ending to a new beginning,” with our name and wedding date.
