Wedding expos

I went to one and it was fun! It was a little overwhelming at first because they start handing you all these flyers and goodie bags, but in the end it was worth it for us. I actually won a few things like free nights for our honeymoon, voucher for wedding bands, and a gift card for champagne flutes. We also got a discount on our DJ. And there are other vendors there. Like there was one booth with ring cleaning material and they cleaned all of our rings for free! There was also wine slushees! I’m sure all of them are a bit different but the one I went to was definitely worth it.

I've been to quite a few, both for our own wedding and for some of my friends. They can be beneficial! We went to one right after we got engaged to see the venue and they had appetizers going around, so we were able to taste the food they were bringing out. We decided that one wasn't it for us, so we eliminated it pretty easily and didn't have to waste anyone's time. We also figured out which bakery to use for our cake through expos. My best friend found her officiant at a wedding expo. So if you're looking for things still, they can be very beneficial. Just be warned, if you sign up for things and use your email, your email is going to be used for a lot of spam emails from vendors. So I made it a point to not give away my email address or phone number unless it was something/someone I was REALLY interested in.

We went to several. Some were a waste but helped to at least eliminate some venues and vendors. Some were a lot of fun. Some were definitely helpful. We actually found our venue through an expo they hosted as well most of our vendors. Most vendors will give you a discount if they meet you through an expo.

That's a good hint, thank you. I certainly don't need my inbox being fulled of more emails from vendors I don't want to use. Sounds really good to see things and eliminate things as well

I found them only helpful for finding vendors in your area. My only call out is that everyone "wins" things, I wouldn't give a valid phone number or email address. In the area I live a venue location typically hosts an "open house" style event and only has local vendors. I found this style of event much more beneficial to looking for vendors in your area.

Thank you for that. I am hoping that the one in my area is for local vendors only and I actually find out something new from a local spot. Thanks for the hint about no phone numbers or emails.

Honestly i didn't think it was helpful but i will say it's kind of fun going to with your friends just to look around. it MIGHT inspire you and it might give you some vendor discounts or whatever but generally it's ok.

We’ve been to a couple and they’ve been fun. Mostly dress modeling, cake samples and vendors.


Make sure you have a separate emails anyway for all wedding related conversations with vendors and use that as your contact. At home you can print a sheet of address/email stickers so you don’t have to spend the day writing.
