Wedding email as method to RSVP?

Harleybeachbride, on November 14, 2016 at 6:44 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11

Hi everyone! I'm going to be ordering our wedding invitations soon, and was wondering if it's a good idea to include a wedding email that I created (winewedding@......) as the RSVP method or do you think it's wise to include RSVP return cards too? We're having a smaller sized wedding of about 75ish ( many of which are couples and/or families) everyone on our guest list has access to, and is likely comfortable w emailing.....I'm wondering if I should provide two options for RSVPing, or stick with the customary method of RSVP cards? Thank you :+)

I used email and the WW website. No RSVP cards. I wonder if people would have been better about RSVPing with the cards because I had to go back to half the people and ask if they were coming or not. Someone said it wouldn't have made a difference; you still end of reaching out on your own no matter how many ways you try!Smiley smile

I don't know what happened to common courtesy. I'm like the RSVP police with my family and friends. But I told them via our wedding email: " Please be sure to send back the envelope with the expensive stamp on it so that I know if you're coming". Lol. I'm the snarky one in the family

I used a Google survey through Google drive and put it on my website. I have to set up to automatically import responses into a spreadsheet which is really nice!

I prefer a card. It's a physical reminder to rsvp. Without it I'm more likely to forget because if i don't have time to do it right when I receive the invite I will forget to do it later. My MOH recently went to a wedding and on the way there she suddenly couldn't remember if she RSVPed because it was all online. If I no longer have the card on the desk I know I sent it.

I would do wedding website and phone number if you want to avoid using RSVP cards. Emails are notorious for ending up in internet purgatory or the commonly unchecked spam folder and people can type in the email address incorrectly and you never see it. It also gives an option for people who aren't comfortable with using the internet.

We used cards and our website, and less than 5% of guests used the site. I think for many, they like the rsvp cards. Me personally, email all day!

I did RSVP cards, and included an insert with the wedding website address and provided an email address that people could RSVP too. I thought it would be more convenient, but only two ppl used the email to RSVP.

I'm planning to divide it up. Any older guests we will do card but guests that are younger, our friends/coworkers they will just receive our wedding site.

I think cards are easier because they're tangible and you do all the work to get them ready. That being said, I gave my guests the option of RSVPing on our site or by phone. We're having a DW and people need to go there regardless to read the info. I was concerned people would RSVP yes and then not really understand it's a DW.

I did cards and online. My rsvp date is Wednesday, but only two people mailed it back. The rest were online, but a lot of people haven't rsvp yet. I wish I saved the money on the stamps.
