Yes you need to try dresses on before purchasing. Azazie and Cocomelody have great reviews on the forum and have high quality dresses that you can try on at home before you buy for $10-15.


Other retailers and designers require you to buy first and try on later, and the quality is questionable.

Some companies have great return policies, others, well, dont. I ordered mine custom from overseas and before ordering I went to a bridal shop and tried on a bunch of dresses to see silhouettes/sleeves/colours/other details that I liked so I had a bunch of pictures for inspo to send the dress designer when I ordered. Even though I didn't try on the exact dress, trying on similar ones made me feel better about ordering online

I suggest trying on before ordering anything to know for sure what you like. I went in to a bridal boutique with the idea that I did not want a mermaid style dress and I did not want strapless. The dress I bought is strapless and my very close second choice was a mermaid dress. I completely surprised myself after trying stuff on
