Wedding dress

My wedding date is June 2021. I know it’s ways away but I want to start planning and getting things together like my wedding dress. When can you start looking? I was thinking around may- June of 2020 because that will be a year out and I want to make payment plans on it.
Plus I’m picky so I think I should start a little early 🤣

A year out is a good time to start looking. It can take 6-8 months for designer gowns to come in and you will need time for alterations.

I'd say your timeline is great! Just be sure to make sure the shop where you buy it allows for a payment plan! I know I had to have 30% down then the rest paid within the month (if that) before they would actually order it for me.

I bought my wedding dress like 2 years out. I've been the same weight for years and I happened to find THE dress. Plus it was on clearance.

A year out is a good time line. Many bridal boutiques suggest ordering your dress 8-10 months before your wedding date. They also typically require you to pay 50% up front and 50% when you pick up the dress. So it sounds like this will work out perfectly with your plan!

I bought my dress a little over a year out. (Bought in January of this year and we're getting married in March)

I think starting to look at 1 year is great! If you find one that would give you a decent amount of time to do payment plans on it and get it paid off in smaller chunks at a time rather than having to pay for it all at once!

I bought mine 19 months out. I loved it and I don’t fluctuate size so I didn’t have a reason to wait.

I bought my dress 20 months out since it was on a sample sale and no other dress stores in my area carry Pronovias. I put half down that day, and had to pay it off within 60 days. I always say the earlier the better.

Hey there date twin xD. You can honestly go shopping for your dress whenever you want to. We have the same date, and I already have my dress. A year out is perfect if you want to wait to make sure you have the latest trends available to you, or if you aren't consistently the same size.

I started looking 15 months out and purchased 12 months out. If you're looking in July, I'd recommend looking for a boutique near you that participates in the National Bridal Sale Event. I ended up getting mine during that time and got my dress 85% off its original price. Each salon that participates does something different (mine was a sample that was severely marked down), but I know those that do participate in the event have some kind of discount happening (either sample dresses or % off new gowns).
