Wedding dress

Personally, this strikes me as one of those “if it’s too good to be true, it isn’t” situations. The fabric and materials cost alone for that dress would likely cost about $170, not including labor. Though not quite as cheap, Azazie is a reputable site that has dresses for under $600. Looks like they do have some for around $100-$200, but they are more simple designs.

I don’t know if I would trust eBay. I have had good luck finding dressmakers on Etsy though! I would just say to make sure you look at reviews. You definitely want someone who has LOTS of recent reviews (especially reviews with photos). And also try to find somebody with a good return policy.

That is quite a detailed dress for only $170. I would be skeptical. Are there any reviews for that seller? Even better if there are reviews that also include photos of dresses they've made for other customers. If there are no (or not many) positive reviews, or if that seller has not been listed on eBay for very long, I would look elsewhere for a dress.

I am a seamstress, and there is NO WAY that dress will be quality at $170. Fabric alone (even if on sale) is $22 a yard (that is lace embroidery on the front) and that gown has a minimum of 8 yards! Either look local or go to a trusted we site with a good return policy.

There is no way a gown could be made & look like that for $170.

I'm in the same boat you are. Though in February I'm gonna buy the dress from eBay - wedding isn't until Oct of '26 - so I can see if it's even similar to the picture. My mom was a seamstress of sorts so I'll know if it's quality or not. I'm not expecting much for the price. As everyone here has already stated it'll cost that much, if not more, in fabric alone. However, if nothing else I'll use it as a template (if it even looks like the picture) to recreate it with higher quality fabric. Once I get it though I'll update you on if it's worth it or not.

I have heard that many things in producing products overseas are cheaper than in the States. It is possible that the material for these dresses may be less than we pay here. I do not know how useful this bit of information will be though.

Hello! Me again, I did say I was gonna end up buying this dress to see how good it really is, but I ended up finding someone posted a photo of the dress. Granted now I cannot find the photo. Good news, it looks exactly like the dress! However, what you cannot see in the photo of the girl is the arms and the midsection is completely see thru lace. The breast cups are hidden by padding, but everything is open. The train is the only part that is a "thicker" fabric. If you're okay with that, then by all means go for it! I don't think this is gonna be the dress for me, especially since I'm gonna be getting married in October '26 in the beautiful state of Colorado.

View Quoted Comment I posted an update saying I didn't and why, but I actually found some photos others have shared so you can see what it looks like outside of the almost AI looking photo. It's not the original photo I found that ended up turning me away, but it still shows very clearly why I decided against it. I'm really upset about it because I am absolutely in love with this dress, so I'm probably gonna just attempt to make one myself.
