Wedding dress

Hello. I am having the hardest time finding THE dress. I’ve been to a good amount of stores and I haven’t found not one that I even like 50%. I tried ordering on DHGate and I hated the dress, now I don’t know what to do. Any one have any success ordering online?

Dress shopping was sooo difficult for me too! I'm still struggling with it. Have you narrowed it down to what specific dress shape you like? If not, I recommend going to a store to try on at least one of every different shape (ball gown, A line, mermaid, etc), and figure out what shape you like best. From there, decide if you like sparkles or lace or plain or beading or other types of decor. Then decided on neckline (high neck, V neck, strapless, etc). You could always ask a seamstress to design a custom dress for you, based on what you like, or if you go to a store, you'll have a better idea of what dresses to try on.

I know my shape and different types,
I just haven’t found a dress that I like. I’ve thought about getting a custom dress but it’s more expensive than purchasing a dress.

Have you tried looking at white gowns rather than “wedding dresses”? Go to Nordstroms website and search for white formal dresses, I had much more success when I stopped looking for a “wedding” dress.

It’s took me 8–10 stores to find my dresses! So frustrating. I finally found separates that worked. For my local reception I found a discontinued wedding dress and made significant changes so it was perfect.

Seamstresses can work magic. And ask to try on dresses by designers willing to customize (tulle, lining, changing sleeves, etc).

I would go in with an Open mind what do you want, are you one who is big into beading? maybe one that is simple, do you want to show off your hips or are you more of a ball gown girl? I hope you find one soon

I had a really hard time finding a dress, and the best thing I did was to going to a newer boutique with different designers. They had so many beautiful dresses and it didn’t take me long to find a dress at the newer boutique, but at the other ones it felt like they almost had way too many dresses that weren’t in the best condition after being tried on and clipped aggressively so many times. Good luck finding your dress!!

Make sure to try on a variety of styles too! I wanted a mermaid or fit and flare and picked out an A line since I fell in love with the dress.
