Wedding Dress

Stephanie, on September 1, 2020 at 9:32 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 17
Hello beautiful ladies!
I’m a plus size woman with huge bust. Where can I find a wedding dress that don’t make me look like grandma Suzy 😆?

I was actually surprised by the selection of gowns in size 18-24 at one of the bridal salons I went to. I would either check their websites or call any bridal boutiques to find out what samples sizes they carry so that you don’t go in only to be disappointed, but finding a designer dress is totally feasible if that’s what your looking for. Otherwise, there’s Azazie with at home try on, or even creating your own custom gown through anomalie.

I found my dress at Torrid. They are only available online though. Pre-covid you could do delivery to store and they would let you try on the dress in store, but now they have pretty lax return policies,

Every major wedding dress designer is available in plus sizes. Take a look at Cocomelody, Torrid, ChiChiClothing, Eloquii, Show Me Your Mumu etc

I googled plus size bridal stores in my area and found a few. You can also call shops and ask what sizing they carry in store. I definitely recommend going to at least the first appointment on that specializes or has a huge stock of plus sizes- trying on gowns that actually fit helped me be less worried about it and have a more enjoyable experience! Torrid has some beautiful gowns online that I liked as well!

Definitely Google for plus size salons in your area! I got mine from David's Bridal, and they had plenty of samples in my size. But I was also pleasantly surprised by the selection at traditional bridal stores as well. The key is to realize that the dress is the problem, not you. I've seen dresses that looked horrible on me look amazing on someone else. You can also try Cocomelody with their custom sizing and budget friendly options! I wish I had pictures back, but my dress was off the rack at David's Bridal and very nice. People kept asking me where I got it lol.

I got my dress from david's bridal. I liked my experience. I think they have a variety of plus size options if you are going for the traditional wedding dress feel.

Call local bridal stores and see if they have plus sizes. Then enjoy trying on different styles!

I worked at a bridal shop for a few months and helped plus size brides look amazing! Some brides rock a ballgown, others rock a mermaid or fit & flare. Just avoid the all-illusion tops because they generally don’t offer enough support for your “girls” and even a seamstress can’t typically do anything to help change that.

I’m not sure where you are located, but when I found I was searching I found this store that specializes in plus size (all of their samples are size 14-34). If it was closer I probably would have gone. When looking for stores, I looked for ones that had plus size options.
