Wedding dress

Help!!

I’ve had my wedding dress for months (we were originally getting married in Jamaica next month) Covid went ahead and ruined that. So we’ve moved our wedding to October to a more local venue and now the style of our wedding has completely changed. I feel like I should have gotten my runner up dress as I didn’t pick it because I didn’t feel it suited our Jamaican beach wedding. It’s too late to exchange it, but would be a huge expense to buy it and not be able to return my original dress. What would you do?!

Hi Sarah! What does you dress look like? Is there anyway to make it work with your new wedding style?

You could always try selling it online on site like Still White. The only problem is that you more than likely won't get the same amount back that you paid for.

Still White sells pre-owned wedding dresses, and I've even seen some that haven't been worn. So maybe you can find one on there that works for your wedding, that also isn't breaking the bank?

Thank you!! My dress does still work and I do love it. All of my bridesmaids/ mother in law say I should keep it. I came across my runner up dress in my photos and was like omg I should have went with that (it was all lace) we are now having our wedding at a Queen Anne Victorian style mansion so I was thinking it would fit better.

I gotcha! Well I say if you still love your dress then keep it! Try and stay away from wedding dresses because you'll keep getting that buyers remorse feeling. I'm sure the dress will look beautiful with your new venue!

I agree, keep the dress you love. What makes you think it may not be the right style for your local wedding in October?

Just because we decided to go with a vintage style with a lot of antiques, I felt that maybe the dress that was alll lace would suit it better but everyone says my dress will suit it just fine so I’m sticking with it Smiley smile thanks ladies

Hi Sarah, have you tried reaching out to the shop you bought it from? I know some of the shops have a strict policy but with covid some are willing to help brides out. This is up to the shop owner but I feel it’s worth a shot especially if the gown is unworn

I have and since I bought it in August it’s too late, they have a 60 day return/ exchange policy. I actually put it back on and kind of re-remembered why I loved it so much so, it makes me feel better now. Even if it doesn’t “match” my venue perfect I still love it, thanks everyone

That’s all that really matters. That you feel your most beautiful when you have it on. I feel like accessories can really change your dress as well.
