Wedding dress

Ok so my wedding is next year august 24. However we are pregnant and I am due September 5. Leaving me 11 months and a few weeks before the wedding. I’ve been reading get your dress as soon as possible buttt I don’t want to get a dress until after the baby comes and I lose some weight from the baby. So when is the latest I should purchase a dress? I’ve already looked at styles pre pregnancy so I have an idea of the style but just want to be safe at the same time.

Most timelines I've seen say order your dress about 9 months before your wedding, but it really depends on the bridal salon and dress designer. I ordered my dress in Sept 2020, expecting it to come in around February 2021, and it ended up coming in early in December 2020 since we're in a pandemic and less people are ordering wedding dresses right now. I would recommend finding something you like around 8-9 months before and getting it taken in during your alteration appointments after you lose more of the baby weight!

We were shooting for an August wedding and I went dress shopping in January. Thankfully I did a lot of online looking and had fallen in love with a dress I had seen. I tracked it down to a local-ish bridal salon and that ended up being the first dress I tried on and ultimately choosing. It is a designer dress and will be coming in in June. We have since decided to push our wedding to December (our anniversary) which allows more time for our bridal party to get their attire. 9 months to a year is idle if you are planning on ordering a dress. Double congrats!!!

Hi beautiful I suggest get a dress no later then 6 months postpartum so you can have 5 months for alterations and to loose as much weight as you can

They recommend ordering at least 10 months before your wedding. You will have plenty of time to get your dress after you deliver your baby.

By the way, congratulations on your pregnancy!

I just put my dress order in this month and gave myself 7 months from the wedding. My dress should get here in May and that leaves me 2-3 months for alterations. I would say the latest you could get away with ordering a dress is 6 months depending on the designer. It doesn't hurt to start looking at ideas, silhouette, styles, details, and all that stuff you want earlier.
