Wedding Dress

Hi Ladies. I bought my dress even before my guy proposed to me. And I'm wondering if I made the rite choice. I love my dress and I hope it's enough to wow him when he sees me in it but looking at everyone else's dress I'm wondering should I have gone with something more fitting. What do you all think? Is my dress enough to wow my guy?Wedding Dress 1

I love this dress and something I would have picked also. I’m not doing form fitting either.

Just want to start by saying, you are beautiful!!!! I know you got sooo excited buying your dress before your fiancé proposed. I feel like a slimmer sleeve would look so good. Is there a way to alter the sleeves to fit your arms a little more? That would be the only thing to suggest. My eyes are drawn to the big puffy sleeves, so if they are toned down a bit or more fitting to your arms, I’d say it looks great!!!

Hi Suzanne Thank You so much for honesty. You have touched my heart with your comment. I thought about a slimmer sleeve but I am truly afraid of the outcome having to cut my dress in that way. I have not had fittings for my alterations but I will definitely explore my options with this.
I hope your planning is coming along with mini

    Hi Ebonie,

You seem to appreciate the ethereal and bohemian aesthetic, which is definitely appropriate for the hillside you described your venue to be on. The material appears to be delicate and detailed. My one concern is that the hills and mountains get very cold during the fall, and I wouldn't want you to freeze.

I hate to be the one voicing doubt, but have you tried on dresses with a fit and flare silhouette, or a modified A-line? The fit and flare is not as restrictive as the mermaid since it hits closer to the hips and not the knees. A modified A-line will not have the overly poofy look that the traditional A-line (aka ballgown will).

One of the other things that stands out to me is that the fabric by the bodice is more peach toned instead of white, making the dress look antiquated and poorly constructed. I also feel that the way the dress is shaped cuts your midsection in half in a way that isn't the most flattering.

You are tall and curvy, and I think that there are more dresses out there that would really make you stand out in a more complimentary way. I hate, hate, hate making you second guess yourself, but having been a bridal stylist before, I would not want to send you down the aisle in anything less than your absolute best.

Hi Elly I appreciate your true and honest opinion. I haven't thought about any other type of dresses except for a princess Ball Gown type dress. This dress is a Vera Wang and Vera truly captured the princess look I was going for. I fell in love with peach tone of the bodice it goes with the fall theme i have always dreamed of and my brides maids in their dresses will look picture perfect beside me.
I haven't had any fittings yet to alter my dress and i cant wait to see how it fits when the alterations are done.
    Thanks Elly for thoughts

I personally like dresses that fits my curves. You want a dress that makes you feel like hot stuff ❤️‍🔥 and if you feel that way in that dress then keep it. If not then don’t. Good luck ❤️

Hi Ebony with a Y. I too love dresses to show off my curves. But for this occasion I wanted something different and beautiful at the same time. My baby always sees me in fitted dresses. I'm going for princess in a castle look. Thanks for you're insight
