I never hurts to go look! Find out what your style is and what suits your body then do lot of window shopping to find "the one"

Take it from someone who has bought THREE dresses already, never buy on your first appointment when you have more than a year out Smiley xd

I agree, it doesn't hurt to make an appointment and find the right style for you! I bought my dress a year out at my first appointment, so maybe I'm not the best to give you advice on when to start but when you've found the right dress, you'll know it!

My wedding is also August 2020 and I've already bought my dress. I went in May to try on styles to see what I liked (without intending to buy) and I found my dress. I think if you are going to go try on styles you have to be prepared for the possibility you may fall in love.
My original plan was to purchase 12 months out.

My dress is going to take 10 months to come in.

I went to two salons 13 months out, and another salon 10 months out. I ordered my dress 10 months out, it took 6 months to arrive! As long as you allow yourself to go to multiple salons & try on lots of dresses, and you don't commit to the first dress you like, I think going now is fine.

I got engaged Nov 2018 and had my dress by Dec 2018... I was also extremely excited! My dress wasn't a "take that day" dress and did take 5 months before I was able to pick it up. My wedding is Nov 9, 2019 so I got my dress about 11 months before, and I'm still just as in love with the dress as the day I ordered it (if not more) Smiley love

It's certainly not too early for you to look. Some dresses can take around 8 (or more!) months to be made and delivered, and you'll want time for alterations, so if you start looking now there's virtually no chance you'll fall in love with a dress that you'll have to run order or won't be able to get in time. And you'll have lots of time to visit several stores and make your decision. No one likes rushing through choosing a wedding gown! Do you have a style in mind already?

I think it's ok to look!

remember when looking, be open to trying different styles as you may never know what you'll like

You’re at the perfect time to start! A dress can take 6-9 months to come in (less than 6 months at David’s Bridal it seems). Mine took 8 months. Ready, set, shop! Enjoy. 👰🏼

Keep you options open if you wish, you don't have to choose a certain color because you have a baby, it's totally your preference!

There's no such thing as "too early" in my opinion! But if you want to take it slow, just go and try on different styles, so you get an idea of what style looks good on you, and what you like. You don't have to buy anything right away.
