I am getting married in September and today I'm going to get my dress. I am super nervous, but excited. I'm so afraid I won't find anything, and that I waited so long. We had planned to go this past summer but my dad was diagnosed with cancer and with all his surgery's everything was put on hold. How did you calm your nerves when you went dress shopping? What are tips and tricks for looking for dresses?

    How exciting, Danielle! Here are a few tips: 1) bring water (trying on dresses makes you thirsty), 2) if you have ideas of what styles you like show pics to your stylist, 3) take into consideration that alterations may cost $300-$800 so if your budget is $3K you may want to tell the stylist $2500, 4) don’t worry about being pressured to buy! Stylists know you might need to visit another shop or think about your favorites then come back to try on your favs again, 5) take pics to remember your favs and see how they photograph, 6) you may fall in love with dress #1 or dress #50 at another shop—it’ll take as long as it takes!

    I'm getting married in November and I just found my dress last weekend. I had been to a few shops and tried dresses on. Trying the dress on twice, I knew that was my dress. Enjoy the process

    Don't be nervous! Just go in with an open mind and have fun Smiley smile I ended up finding my dress on my first venture looking and went home with it that same day. Can't wait to see what you find!! Smiley smile
