Dont limit yourself on what you think you want... I chose a dress I didnt think I'd like and when I tried it on, I knew it was the one!!

Try different styles, and you do NOT have to order that day. Sleep on it, then come back if that is really the dress. Too many women buy a dress and then have dress regret over it - I was one of them lol. Wish I had taken more time but now I love my dress after exchanging it.

Try on every style, bring your Spanx, KEEP HYDRATED and bring some (not messy) snacks. Trying on dresses is hot work and hard work. Limit the champagne. You'll be stumbling into those dresses even when sober (maybe I'm extra clumsy though)

What hasn't been said is: limit the # of people that you take with you. It might feel great to invite all of your best friends, your mother and your mother in law to your first visit, but it will quickly feel overwhelming when everyone has a different opinion. So, just bring 1 (max 2) people with you.

Also, don't get concerned with the size listed on the tag. Wedding dresses are quite wonky with their sizes, just try on what the salesperson thinks would look good on your figure.

Also, if you're setting a hard and fast budget, keep in mind that alterations are often needed and they can get expensive.

Definitely try sitting in it and moving around - your arms up and down, etc. and if you already have bridal accessories like shoes and jewelry bring them with you to try on to see how it all looks together!

    - limit who you bring I ended up bringing 5 people which at times I felt was to much I would limit it maybe your mum, sister and best friend .. I didn’t react who I brought I just had my aunty there was very vocal

    - try on different styles to understand which you like best for me I thought I wanted night fit and flare but ended up with a ball gown as I just felt more secure and it’s my one day to be over the
    - once you do find the style you like be clear with the consult what you like what you don’t .. I had one issue with a consultant giving me dresses that had straps however I only wanted strapless
    - DONT feel the pressure to purchase on the day ..it’s prefect fine if you want to sleep on or look at other dresses this is your wedding
    - if you can take photos and videos in the dress do just bear in mind sometimes they don’t offer the most accurate color
Enjoy the process of dress shopping

If you want to get something online, i would suggest just going to a store to try on different styles first so you know what you like before you attempt to get anything online [and look at return policies]
