Has anyone else had trouble finding their dress?? Whenever I go wedding dress shopping I don't feel like a bride I just feel like I'm playing dress up. Is that just me??

I had the same experience. I tried on lots of pretty dresses, but just never felt like a bride, or had that feeling that it was “the one”. I finally just accepted the fact that maybe I wasn’t that girl and wasn’t going to have that experience. But, as it turns out, I just had to find the right dress! As soon as you find it, you’ll know!

I was a bit disappointed when I first went. It was overwhelming, and I didn’t find the right dress, 3 more bridal shops, and about 20-30 dresses later, I finally put one on that felt like me. I can’t say I feel very “bridal” through the entire wedding planning, but the dress makes me feel wonderful. You will know when you put the right one on! And try on different styles!

I feel like TV puts too much pressure on finding the “perfect” dress. Of course you want to look nice for your photos and saying your vows, but at the end of the day it is just a dress. If you’re getting married, you’re a bride. Pick something that will look nice and don’t let it get to you. All the dresses are pretty or they wouldn’t sell them. Your guests and partner won’t know what the other options were so they won’t be comparing. There are tons of other parts to planning a wedding, which is a special day but only one day of your life. Don’t let the dress experience put a damper on your engagement. Good luck!

    Yes!! Way too much pressure!!

When I was shopping, I had had a baby six months before. Things didn’t fit me like they used to, and then we’re talking wedding gowns, which can be hard to fit anyway. It was not an easy process...honestly it felt very disappointing!! I did finally find a dress I loved. Took a long time and much trial and error.

Not at all! That was totally me! I hated the whole process and went to 13 stores before finding a dress I liked. Don’t even love it, didn’t have any bride moment or ahah moment. More like this will do yay no more shopping. Dresses is really not a big deal and it’s ok if you hate the process and if you don’t find the one! Some people like me don’t have any experience like that.

I had good experiences with my stylists but also never really had that moment. I did once and then had dress regret like a week later so I canceled my order. I finally took to online and even though I wasn't able to try it on, I still had my "this is the one" moment. When I received it and finally got to wear it, it was everything I was hoping it would be and more!

I definitely didn’t cry and probably won’t cry from a dress...but who knows. I do get super happy and light up so maybe that’s just how I am. But yeah, definitely try on as many dresses as you need to to figure out what you like and don’t like, and that should guide you to finding the right dress.

I definitely felt that way! I almost bought a dress that I just liked cuz I wasn’t loving any of them. Then I found my dress!! I walked around in it to make sure that I loved it and then cried when I officially said yes.

This is how I felt! I think my dress is nice, but nothing to cry of happiness over. I liked it, and it wasn't heavy, so I went with it!
