I got married about a month ago. I had gained some weight since I purchased my dress 😑.

Some of my bridesmaids had some negative and unsolicited things to say ….like I looked like I had a “fupa,” that the dress was too tight and stiff, and that they thought it was so tight I might get hypoxic. I had no option but to wear it, as I could not find an alternative last minute.
Another bridesmaid said the negative conversation was going to give her an eating disorder….
Now, that I am ordering our wedding photos- we pick 30 for professional editing, I am left thinking I should avoid choosing photos that show my mid section or should I just ignore people and not worry?

Ok, super rude of your friends to make those comments! Fabric moves and bends 🤷🏼‍♀️ Don’t even worry about it. You look fabulous in your dress!!

Those people are not your friends. There is no issue at all, as you look fabulous.

Agree with Cece. Very rude of them. It’s a beautiful dress and you look gorgeous in it!

I myself had a ton of wrinkles right below my bust 🤷🏻‍♀️ I kind of freaked out and it took my mom telling me no one is going to bat an eye or care. Wedding dresses won’t always fit perfectly. I hope you are still able to enjoy your photos for years to come for the joyful day that it was 😊

Wow. Just wow. First of all - those friends? Fiends. Girl you don't need that kind of negativity in your life and I'm sorry that they made such horrid comments to you on your wedding day. To the girl that said the negative conversation was going to give her an eating disorder? As someone who's struggled with one for 20 years - thats so wrong on about 335 different levels. And I hope you tell all of them that their true colors have shown and they are not pretty.

Second of all, and most importantly - YOU LOOKED AMAZING! Do not let their terrible negative energy stop you from ordering photos because you can see your mid section. Fabric moves and bends. It wrinkles in places. Especially typical wedding gown fabric. Think about one of the most iconic dresses of all time - Princess Diana. The woman stepped out of the carriage and her dress was all KINDS of wrinkled. Doesn't mean she didn't still look gorgeous. Your dress does not look tight or like you can't breath. It looks like you were moving around, sitting down, standing up, and enjoying your day.

Order the photos that make you happy. Order them because you think they look beautiful and ignore what those horrid women said. My MOH gave me the best advice anyone ever has when I got engaged and started saying I was going to go weight-loss crazy (and she knows my history very well). She's been married for 10 years and she went crazy with slimming down before her wedding. She was at her absolute skinniest and was miserable for months leading up to it. And this is what she says now: "When I look at my wedding photos, I never think about how skinny or fat I looked. I look at my face and see someone so damn happy to be marrying their best friend. Cause that's all that matters."

Pick the photos where your happiness radiates through. Regardless of anything else.

Just remember, when people make comments about other peoples’ bodies, they are giving away their own insecurities and body issues. They have the issue, not you. Also, you don’t have a “fupa”. You look stunningly beautiful.

Thank you all for your input and wonderful advice it is very much appreciated!

Also, just for some context: some of the comments came from a friend and some from my two sisters who were bridesmaids. My sisters have walked back some of their comments, but still very much bothered me. The other friend is just always brutally honest with everything no matter what 🫤. The bridesmaid that made the comment about the eating disorder did so because she was trying to highlight how negative/harmful she thought the comments were. She was the only bridesmaid to tell me I looked beautiful ( and did so multiple times!).
I figured the wrinkles just came with the fit of the dress and tried not to let it bother me… but here we are 🤷🏻‍♀️! It may have to do with the fact in the end I spent $1800 on wedding dress alterations not to be completely thrilled (but that’s a whole other story).
Again, thank you all for your input. I will be ordering the photos that make me happy regardless of what my dress looked like!
