Wedding dress with converses

Hayley, on July 18, 2021 at 5:18 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15
I bought a new wedding dress and the new dress has a slit. A while ago I bought custom converses to wear with my dress. Would it be weird looking or ugly to wear my custom converses with my new dress?

I think this is personal preference. Do you like the look of the shoe poking out from the dress? I presume you've bought the converse because you love them and think they're representative of your style. If that is the case, then absolutely wear them! If you bought them for comfort, maybe have a pair of heels or something that you prefer the look of, just for the ceremony and change into your converse later?

I bought them for the whole wedding due to my style and I was going to change from heels to the converse but I honestly do not know when I would have the time. I am mixed emotions! I feel like once i try them on together I would definitely know!

Do you have photos of the dress and the shoes?? I'd love to see photos so I can help envision this look!

You're going to have problems if you switch from heels to flats (Converse), as your dress will be hemmed for one of the two lengths.

The shoes are cute, the dress is sexy/elegant. If your dress did not have a slit, you could probably pull it off. However, in my opinion, the shoes would be the focal point and look out of place with such a beautiful dress.

Hey love! I recently had a hip surgery and I plan on wearing some blinged out tennis shoes! You’ll be standing all day you gotta wear what’s comfortable!!

This is just a matter of personal choice. I wore sparkly red keds. I’m very much a pop of color person and an ‘I like tradition but like to do it in my own way’ type. They were perfect for me, and I was so comfortable in them (both in the comfy feet aspect and in the “feeling myself” aspect). My dress didn’t have a slit but was hemmed short enough so that my shoes were definitely visible and seen. One PP mentioned the risk of shoes becoming the focal point, but, I personally don’t see that as a bad thing! My red shoes were ABSOLUTELY a focal point, but I loved every second of it. People still bring them up when we get talking about our wedding!

I really think you’ll just have to follow your heart when you try them on together. I think it’ll be one of those “when you know, you know” type feelings. When I put my sneakers on with my dress I felt 100% sure it was the right choice for me

I say go for it, i think it will add edgyness to the dress. I got custom converse to but mine are all white with bling on it
