My wedding dress was too long on my wedding day because I couldn’t afford any alterations based on my poor budget. I got my wedding dress from goodwill I thought, a cheap dress would be the best option for me but later realised the dress did fit me but it was for a 7 foot bride, I don’t even know how a dress like that existed. Just to clarify also I’m a 5ft bride. So yh on my wedding day, had to wear it without alterations and I kept tripping on it the entire day even holding the dress up still made it too long. Hopefully you get a better situated where you can have a vow renewal and a dress that works better. It seems maybe the excess length in the front of the dress could have been tucked under your waistline to keep it out of the way without having a seamstress involved.

I had a similar issue! When walking down the aisle —and to my first look— I had to kick my feet in front of me like a soldier but that’s okay, it made for a funny detail on a once-in-a-lifetime evert.

The flaws in these experiences, much like in ourselves, are what give them character—as well as stories for years to come.
