Wedding dress train

Kailey, on March 8, 2021 at 12:48 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9
Been trying to find ways to bustle my train. So far the best that can come up with is adding a strap. I'm just worried that it might get a little heavy. The problem with a normal bustle is that the white liner is long, but not long enough to go up with the bustle and the bustlewould have to sit high because of my height. Any suggestions? Below is a picture of my dress and how it would sorta look with a strap.. Also I'm thinking off of bringing a little on the sides kinda up, it is also shown in the pictures below. I'm having two people walk me down the aisle and I'm worried about them stepping on it. What do you think? Wedding dress train 1

That’s something a professional should handle, I think.

My friend has been able to shorten it, so I don't trip on the front and had to fix my strap and a few other things. She has done a really good job. She could do the strap, but if I want a bustle she said I would have to go to a professional to. I'm just worried that a professional might put it high to. My wedding is June so I also don't have a whole lot of time. Thank you.

Beautiful dress!! I would talk to a seamstress about different options for bustles - they should be able to find a way to keep everything off the floor! Check out this article for different bustle types and what they each look like: https://www.theknot.com/content/amphtml/what-is-a-bustle

A professional seamstress would easily be able to add a proper bustle that will look nice. Carrying your dress around all night with a strap will get very annoying very fast. It is also pretty old fashioned.

Have you talked to a seamstress. Mine is the same way and she’s doing a bustle on the under layer and the over layer so they’ll be the same length.

I agree ask a seamstress, mine knew right away I need a 3 point bustle and she made it so it's going to lay perfectly when it's up

So, my dress was the same way! A seamstress ( I went to three different ones) said my material with the dress was to thin, and they couldn't bustle it. So they added a strap like yours, well long story short, while I was walking around someone at the wedding accidently stepped on my dress/train while I was holding the strap, and the strap ripped off. So for the majority of the wedding, I had to hold my train like in my hands because of the strap ripping off. So just a heads-up to make sure they really enforce the strap in the event that happens to you. Sorry, I'm not trying to cause you panic, just want you to be aware. Smiley smile

Do not figure this out on your own. Find a professional local seamstress.
