Wedding Dress Too Small

Really, I’m just hoping I’m not the only one this has happened to. I ordered my dress in December 2018, and received it in May 2019. I inevitably gained weight during that time. My dress didn’t close on me. I’ve lost weight since, but still needs a couple inches to close on the waist. The top part of my dress is large though, and will need to get taken in. I go see a tailor tomorrow, I was wanting to wait to lost more weight, but my wedding is October 5, of this year. I can’t put it off much longer. I expect to continue to lose weight until the wedding. Has anyone else had to have their dress get altered, because of it being a little small?

Hiii,yes, im 6weeks out and my dress doesnt fit,i received my dress june this year and gained weigth since im only a couple inches from getting it to button but it still wont,seamstress says there is very little she can do,do to the fact that the nack of the dress is ilusion,here is a picture (upper back wont button)

Of course! I had to have a corset put in but now it fits like a dream and wasn’t an expensive alteration.

Photo didn’t post hun, but if it’s an illusion back your seamstress could likely let your dress out at the seams in the sides. This isn’t cheap but it’s a solution with a skilled seamstress.

Mine is too small as well, I am having them let it out a little bit because I don’t want to stress about losing weight!

I’m 4days away and August was pretty rough on me so I ended up undoing the some of the progress that I had done and now my dress is snug to say the least which is stressing me more but nothing I can do about it now. No room or time for alterations. But who needs to east sit or breathe on their wedding day anyways 😅😅😅
