Wedding Dress “the One”

Not everyone is going to be so emotional about their wedding dress. There might be something else that evokes emotion or anticipates the reality of your wedding. You can make the decision based on the style you think will work best. Don't measure yourself based on other people's reactions. But even the dress shopping may result in a surprise find even though you haven't seen that yet.

I didn’t cry or get emotional but when I tried it on I was like “wow, I really like this” because it wasn’t a style I was even interested in. It was over my budget too so the fabric and quality was just so much nicer than the other dresses I tried. I went home without making a decision and then looked at all the photos we took and kept going back to it.


I bought it!

However I went back and forth and went dress shopping again and found another dress that I loved a lot! But it was double over my budget. I considered buying that one preowned and thought about it a lot but ultimately decided to stay with my original dress.


Moral of the story is, I didn’t have that ahh hah moment!!!

Hi now about THE ONE! It's like you go through so many wedding dresses app online shopping seeing all these different weddings dress. Now yes we all are different human beings but once you try on different styles and types. You may not like on the hanger but it just may you. You are over come with emotion. I also think that's its seeing ourselves in a wedding dress alot spurred up looking in the mirror. You and your family start crying and you how beautiful that we are. It happened to me I went through maybe 12 dresses on but when I get my silhouette down I was between 1 and 4 but 1 was it after my family and consult suggest that I get a veil and all made up. And once I turned around and saw myself I started crying and said to myself I'm getting married and I had everyone in the bridal shop crying. I will never forget that day and My wedding day when my husband uttered the words to me "WOW YOU LOOK BEAUTIFUL". And when I saw him crying I knew that I had pick the right dress. So once you put the dress on it you will cry. Happy dress shopping

I didn't get emotional, but I did immediately look in the mirror and go "oh wow." I felt really confident in it, loved the detail and the shape, and went with that. It was the second dress I tried on. My mom cried at a different dress and it just was not for me. For me I did "know" but I am also a really decisive person. I knew exactly what I wanted going in and ended up choosing a very similar dress, but it wasnt that super exciting, crying, imagining seeing my husband cry as I walk down the aisle type feeling. I just felt really good in it so its what I went with.

So I really love the dress I bought, but is it exactly everything I could have imagined? No. I am a person with ridiculously high expectations lol but I also knew I wasn’t going to realistically find something I would ever deem “perfect” especially within budget. Realistically, what I envision probably does not exist. It was more a matter of realizing well, this one is my favorite of everything I’ve seen and tried on, and it is the closest to what my ideal vision is. I was also fighting against the fact that I don’t like most of what is considered “on trend” at the moment. I got slightly emotional for a split second when I tried on my dress with the veil, but nothing crazy and I did not cry. I guess I’m too logical for that at my age! Anyway, don’t worry about the emotional if that’s not your style. You will find a dress that is better than the rest, and just let go of worrying about the magical feeling of the one .. but you will find it because it is above all others you try. That may be what people mean when they say it’s the one.

View Quoted Comment Yes thank you for saying that! So I did say “yay” to a dress yesterday!! I went back to store #2 out of 8 because there was one dress that I felt so comfortable in. And like yourself, it isn’t everything that I imagined lol but it works for me. And that’s all that matters 😊

Glad you found your dress. I didn’t cry, I didn’t get emotional but I noticed it just felt right, I didn’t have anything negative to say about myself in the dress (which was not the case with all the others I tried). I tried on 3 after that dress and then put that one back on and said yup. This is it.

Thank you for the suggestion! My bridesmaids went with me to one store just to have the experience and my mom went with me to another store but the other 6 stores I went by myself. I didn’t want other opinions clouding my judgement. I decided on the fav one of all the dresses!! I feel good in it! YAY!!
