Wedding Dress Straps

Chelsea, on May 18, 2020 at 10:16 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9
My wedding dress originally had very thin spaghetti straps. In order for the girls to be more secure lol I had thicker straps added. My dress fit absolutely perfectly with the spaghetti straps, but when my seamstress added the thicker straps I think she made them a little too short because the top now feels like it sits much higher, is tighter, and feels like it’s squishing my boobs up super high.

I’m trying to lose more weight before my wedding (which is now January 16, 2021). Do you think if I lose weight in my back/chest the dress will sit right? Or will I need to have the straps lengthened? Below are pictures of the original top, and the top with the new straps. Also, I haven’t gained weight, I’ve actually lost weight. The second picture is just at a bad angle and the way the top fits now makes me look sooo much heavier! Thanks!

If it were me I would see if she can lengthen the straps. I’m always about comfort. Whatever decision you go with you look so beautiful in that dress!

Thank you! That was my initial thought too, I don’t want them to start digging in a be painful!

Beautiful dress! I agree the girls look a bit snug. The straps are very nice, maybe just a minor adjustment on the strap length could fix that. Could even just need some boob tape to keep them where you want them. Regardless your dress is beautiful on you!

It looks like they’re lifted in the second pic. I would ask her if she can lengthen them to make it more comfortable.

That’s what I was thinking too, make them longer so it sits a little lower!

I would wait until you lose the weight or see how your body changes over the next bunch of months before you make any more changes to the dress. I think you look beautiful and don't need to lose a pound, but if that's what you want to to, definitely wait to alter it further

I wouldn’t change anything before you are done with your weight lost. I mean, I prefer to alter it once, not back and forth 😉
