Wedding Dress Shopping

Paiton, on September 30, 2019 at 4:18 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11
My wedding is September 2020. I am looking to start dress shopping in about 2 months. How many people/ who did you bring with you to help you shop? I am having a hard time deciding who to and not to bring

I've always been a "the fewer the better" type person for wedding dress shopping. That being said, I ended up bringing four people (two sisters, FSIL, and my mom). Would have been five but FMIL backed out. My group was very supportive, but depending on who you bring they can be far too opinionated. I would only bring the people who you KNOW will have nothing but kind things to say (unless of course you ask them to talk about how ugly you think a dress is, which I definitely did lol). Best of luck to you!

I didnt bring anyone to mine aha. originally i was only going to bring my moh but then the store we wanted to go to shut down! and then i just ended up buying online but did go in person but went by myself. it was also due to the fact that i went a very nontraditional route for my dress

I brought my mom and my aunt (they both live in the same city I do, which is where the wedding is being held). FMIL is out-of-state, as are my MOH and bridesmaids. My mom texted pictures to my sister (MOH) while we were there, but it was really nice only having two people there!

I took my mom, aunt and sister... 7 months later I regretted my dress, so I went alone. I actually LOVED going alone! And then I FaceTimed my mom when I "found the one".

The fewer opinions you have with you at your appointment, the better! I'd probably just bring your mom plus one or two other people.

I brought my mom, sister and a friend. Most places recommend you don’t bring a large party with you. Plus, the more people you bring, the more opinions you’ll get, and not always in a good way. I suggest bring only a few of your closest family/friends that you know will support you with lots of positivity!

I didn't really feel like I needed anyone to go with me, but I had my aunt and her daughter with me. It was nice having their input. I was only bringing a max of 4 and all of those people have my best interests in mind. That is, they know me well and my taste and wouldn't be shopping for themselves.

I brought 11 people and it wasn't a problem. I let the shops know in advance and it was important to include those people with me. In the end, some didn't love my dress but I knew I did and it was perfect for me. So it was a great time. I didn't need everyone's approval, just wanted to share the experience with them! Smiley heart

I went to an impromptu appointment with only my MOH. Dress shopping was overwhelming for me, so I’m glad I did it that way! Plus, since it was such a last minute decision, it was a great excuse as to why I didn’t invite an entourage.

I only had three people with me - mom, Matron of Honor and FMIL. And since I had a really, really good idea of what I wanted it made it really simple!

My advice would be to take someone who has been in a wedding recently (if you can) to ask you questions about if you can bend over, dance, etc., cause I wouldn't have thought of those things myself.

I will be bringing my sister when I go in November. I'm also September 2020. I live in a different state so I didn't expect people to fly in to dress shop unless they wanted to. My mother would have been coming but she just stated a new job and does not want to take time off. That's okay with me because she's got poor taste LOL. If I don't find anything I will shop in my hometown in December and probably invite friends/family.
