Wedding dress shopping

Alexis, on January 19, 2020 at 9:05 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
Hello everyone!
So I’m going to (finally) go on my first dress shopping adventure. My question is, who did you invite to go with you? Did you invite your future MIL? All your bridesmaids? Thanks in advance!

I found that if I took too many people it would overwhelm me. So I just took my mom, future mother in law and then my sister (MOH)

I went with just my mom and loved it. The fewer opinions, the better.

Bring people who either share your sense of style or aren’t going to fight you on it. Think of who will build you up and support you instead of talk you into a dress that they like.

Yay, congratulations! It'll be fun! I invited my mom & my 2 sister in laws, my 3 bridesmaids, my MIL and my future sister in law. That 1st visit was hectic! Everyone was incredibly nice and supportive but it was a lot of dresses and a lot of opinions. My 2nd time I went I took my mom and my one sister in law. It was much quieter and I could focus more. I would recommend a very small group!

I refused to invite my entire bridal party because it would have been way way way to many opinions floating around for me. So I decided to take my mom, my FMIL, FSIL, and my MOH, but my MOH couldn’t make it. It was far more enjoyable than I would have invited my entire bridal party, but of course I sent them all a picture of my dress after I found the right one.

I've heard it both ways. I feel like I'm "forced" to take my future MIL (insert eyeroll). My mom is flying in Valentine's weekend to dress shop with me and attend our engagement party! I have 4 different reservations at different places that weekend. My Matron of Honor can't come. I'm going to have a total of 4 of us. Anymore and I would think that is way to many opinions.

I didn’t have a wedding party. I shopped mostly by myself (easier & quieter), but did do one trip with my mom/sister and one with my mom/friend. My hubby’s mom had already passed but it would have been nice to include her—she seemed like a very easy-going lady.

I went with just my mother and I'm really happy I did. It was way easier to just have me & her, and it was a nice moment for us to share.
