Wedding dress shopping beginner

Britt, on January 25, 2019 at 12:21 AM Posted in Arizona Planning 0 8
I'm a little over a year out from the wedding and ready to start looking at dresses! Where do I start?! I really don't want to spend a ton on my wedding dress. I've read on here people being able to buy them for under $1,000 including alterations and accessories. Where in Arizona should I go to look for dresses? Any and all advice is welcome! Thank you in advance!

Hi Britt!! My first step if I'm looking for any sort of outfit is to do some preliminary research. Google, Pinterest, maybe the Dresses page here on WeddingWire, figure out a general idea of what I'm looking for. That way, when I go into a store, I can ask the people working there for specific details or features and they can have an idea of the style I'm going for.

As far as place to go in Arizona for dresses, I'm not from Arizona, so I can't really tell you. I would, however, take a look through the WeddingWire vendor directory and see if any of the wedding dress shops in the area speak to you. I'll link to that below.

You could also look at your local Facebook Marketplaces. I've seen a couple of wedding dresses in my area, so that's a viable option as well. Smiley smile

I went to Brilliant Bridal. Love my dress.

I think there are a couple locations in AZ. They have lots of dresses for under $1,000. It's an off the rack store, so if you buy the dress you get to take it home that day.

I second Brilliant Bridal! I got my dress from there for under $800. Though they’re off the rack, the stylists there are wonderful and make you feel so welcome. You still get the wedding dress shopping experience without the price.

They have 2 locations: Mesa and North Phoenix. And I had gotten an extra percentage off my dress by making my appointment while at the Arizona Bridal Show.

I third Brilliant Bridal! You get great attentive care during your shopping experience. It’s just like any upscale bridal boutique BUT with amazing off the rack prices. I received 10% off because I have a family member in the military. The original price of my dress was $1500 and I ended up paying $1050 which was right in budget.

Depending on where you are, Tucson has a great place: Hem & Her. Joyce is amazing and has fantastic prices, which includes alterations.

I fourth Brilliant Bridal! I wanted to keep the price under $500 and they were very careful to keep that in mind. My salesperson was so helpful, and I ended up getting a beautiful dress for exactly the price I was hoping for! If you check in on Yelp they give you 10% off.

    Hi there!

If there is a Davids Bridal in Arizona I highly recommend it! I know many people have negative things to say about Davids Bridal (but you can't knock it until you try it Smiley smile ) I had an amazing experience at my Ohio location! I purchased my dress for $449. It is actually a Davids Bridal collection dress and it is stunning! The quality is most definitely there! They have a budget for just about everyone with a TON of styles to choose from. That goes from anywhere from simple elegant, to extreme ball gowns, to lace and sparklely! My budget was $500 but with alterations, I went slightly over. Many of the bridal boutiques in my area's starting price averaged about $1200, which for me that is just too much to spend on a dress for just one day.

    Good luck to you!
