Wedding Dress Shapewear for Curvy Women

I am a curvy woman and have found that each brand is different and each item int eh brand also runs differently. I would recommend going to the department stores and trying on the items you are interested in. Try all of them on and then go from there. If you find a brand you like you can also jot down the specifics, to include item number, etc and then look on line to see if you can find it at a less expensive price.

I love Spanx, especially the crotchless ones so you can use the bathroom easily.

It also depends on your dress. For instance is your back low cut or high? Any see through? I tried on dresses with regular spanx but i can't wear it with mine because my back is see through. Sometimes this makes a challenge when looking or recommending specific shapewear. You need to view the shapewear that's sold in department stores, target, lingerie/undergarment stores and see what will work with your dress. You can also inquire with a bridal store or seamstress.

I purchased a spanx piece that comes all the way up to my bra. I already had my first dress fitting and it sucked everything in great! I purchased it from Lane Bryant but I'm sure it is available elsewhere as well. A well spent $38!

One thing that I’ve had issues with is that most shapewear rolls down on me. I have a thinner waist but wide hips and I can’t wear straps because I have an illusion neckline. It’s awful because I end up getting lines across my mid section from it. If anyone finds something that works, I would love to know too!

I guess as having the same dilemma actually. I am curvy as well and the back of my dress is see through so I won’t be wearing a bra and will tel them if they can sew cups in. I ordered a pair of spanx briefs that can hopefully cover th front of my up to my belly button and fingers crossed they won’t show at all in the back!!!

I was hoping to find a strapless slip with firm control, but that type of shapewear is nearly impossible to find. I found a few high easter short options on target that I will bring with me to my next fitting.
