Wedding dress prices in US vs. Canada?

I'm planning to start looking for my wedding dress in the coming months-I live close to the US border and am wondering if dresses are cheaper than in Canada? I've been looking at Jenny Packham dresses in particular, and it seems like the starting price in Canada is higher than the US, but of course prices are never posted to know for sure. Would appreciate any insight to those that bought their dresses in the US and brought them back to Canada (and if it was worth it).

Right now no shopping is worth it with the way the dollar is and if you change your rings to a photo you will get more responses

Ashley/Rosemary-I know the dollar is pretty dismal right now, but I also know there are certain things that are so ridiculously marked up in Canada that it's still worth purchasing in the US (e.g. my Trader Joe's shopping hauls aren't going anywhere!). It would just be nice to know how BIG the gap is to see if it's worth it.

If it helps, I looked at a used Jenny Packham and it was around 3000 (US), new ones can start double that. I know a few of her simpler designs might go for less than that...but given the mark up on everything bridal in the States, I doubt you will get much of a deal. I know your "sin" tax is much more than ours and some of your food costs, but I think clothing is pretty comparable. At least it was last summer when I was shopping in Canada (my dad lives 8 miles from the border on the US side, and the closest shopping center is in Canada). But you could at least call the bridal shops within driving distance in the US - they'll give you price ranges if not exact prices.

With the dollar so low, plus having to pay tax on the dress coming back across, I would say just buy the dress here in Canada. (Unless you find a crazy good deal!).
