Wedding Dress Preservation by The Knot

The Knot as in the wedding app does dress preservations? How does that work?

I found the company that the knot uses for wedding dress preservation and looked up their reviews. The company is called Happily Ever After Gown Preservation. If you do it through the company instead of the knot you can have two accessories cleaned and preserved as part of the package, which the knot charges extra for. The entire process was very easy. They sent a shipping box and paper work to where my dress was in Florida. My mom filled everything out and sent it in. They provided shipping tracking the entire time and before and after pictures if you request them. It took about 6 weeks, but that is what they quoted. I was also able to have the dress shipped to a different address since my wedding was in Florida but I live in Virginia, which was very convenient. The dress arrived packed and displayed very nicely. My veil was also positioned around the dress so that I could see the lace details on it. My only complain was that my shoes were my second accessory and you can't see them in the box at all. I had custom made shoes and really wanted to be able to see them. I can't even tell if they are in the box. The issue is, if you open the box, then you undo the preservation part. So I keep going back and forth if I should open it or not. Overall they did a great job and I think it is worth the money.

Oh this was such a helpful site for me!!! It costs $400 to clean a dress in NYC and another $150 for preservation -- wayyyy too expensive!! Thank you!!!

View Quoted Comment You’re welcome! No they didn’t provide gloves. They don’t want you to open the box because it undoes the seal and the dress is technically not preserved anymore. It would be clean, but it’s supposed to be sealed air tight to help preserve it.

Do not use them!! My husband and I got married in July, sent our suit and dress in August, and it’s now mid November and we haven’t received anything back. They also don’t answer their phones and are impossible to get a hold of. They called my husband about a month ago and told him they lost his pocket square and would order him a new one, but we still haven’t gotten anything back or heard from them since. What a scam.
